on this forum a sack the board thread or a supermarket discussion gets much more interest than a football thread, though im sure more from here will post on football if the team starts to struggle. Just to play an home game will do for starters??

That's just nonsense. We've had one successful season in the last 14 years and that was 7 years ago, and now we are no longer a Football League club. Do you really - really - expect a forum like this or indeed any other club's forum to have a lot of posts about the club's success when actually there hasn't been anything but catastrophe?

I think we would have been more successful if we had stayed at Twerton and maybe in a better position now wrt ground etc.

Fully agree with the OP.
I mean, sure we are happy we are doing well but is this the level we have to drop to win a few games?
It seems hard to moan when we are in the mix for promotion, but we were totally mismanaged to drop from the league with the FFP on our side against teams with hardly a pot to piss in.
To be honest I think we had a better team last season, for me it just highlights how crap this conference league is and yet we will probably spend more than 1 season in it.

Althoug, looking at the front page right now, there are 10 threads devoted to longer term concerns, and 15 devoted to immediate football matters. but the non football threads run on for pages and pages even though we have no new information on the sainsbury issue?

Yes, but you should know by now, there's nothing like a bit of speculation to fire up our imagination is there ?

It looks like you think the negative people are the ones saying we can do better, we must strive to achieve more, we should not accept second best. And the positive people are the ones saying we are where we are so lets make the best of it, we can do nothing about it so just accept it, we should be grateful we still have a team to support. Does that really stack up ?

Does that really stack up ? Yes - ultimately I would consider complete unconditional support no matter what to be a negative position because it validates and excuses failure and incompetence. 'Get behind them' people say; get behind what? I don't see anyone not supporting the team on the field but the board and the club are not the same thing. If they are the same thing then we are already finished in my view. I don't want to sack the board, I want them to do a better job and our record on and off the pitch in the last 5 years (being generous) suggests there is a spectacular amount of room for improvement on pretty much every front.

ashley at newcastle, oyston at blackpool, venkys at blackburn and higgs at rovers,,fans demanding "sack the board" but nothing happens??
when bristol city got relegated from the championship and looked like they were heading for league 2 despite spending lots of money did there supporters chant "sack the board"?
i understand people demanding better than the bloody conference but ive found the relentless negativity depressing and i think a fair few people at games and on here turn against the team/manager very quickly.
of course its good to discuss more than just playing matters on a forum,it just struck me how popular non football subjects are
