Now what was the title of that other thread? Ah yes..."Barnet fans not confident"....! Bit of a turn round isn't it? Its all to play for. Did Bradford fans honestly thinbk that being 2 down they would win 4-2. Or Watford 2 down at ht - win 7-2. Anything is possible and it ain't over till its over.
Good grief...I am glad that the great Winston Churchill didn't think that way.
"We will fight them on the beaches....etc" Time for some backbone!!!!

What has changed since 3pm yesterday? Did anyone expect barnet to drop points? Considering we had no game yesterday things have gone quite negative. Barnets next 7 games A halifax l H woking d A wrexham w H Grimsby d A Alty w H FGR d A eastleigh l 9 points Rovers next 7 A dartford w H lincoln w A Grimsby d H alty w H Braintree w A gateshead d H eastleigh w 17 points with a game in hand. Now this is guess work but guessing going with current form. We haven't lost in 24? So shouldn't fear anyone. Barnet starting to drop points regularly against top half teams. One thing for sure it's going to be close. If think your predictions for just the next two games are a bit bias in our favour as Barnet's next two games are very similar to ours opponents wise. What we do need to do is ensure when Barnet next jobs points we capitalise to put pressure on them not just points ourselves like last weekend. Although if the season does end with the Play Offs we must go into them positive and not on a low as we've missed out on promotion, or otherwise we'll be still in the Conference next season.

Much as I'd love to see it I don't think we'll overtake Barnet.
So, unless our form deteriorates, it's the play-offs.
A 25% chance, and I don't like those odds.
For what it's worth, I have this recurring nightmare that we will lose to Eastleigh, with James Constable scoring the winner.

Just an opinion mate. Barnet have lost 2 of their last 6 though so was trying to go with form. Don't put any money on these results! I haven't won an accumulator for a good 12 months!!

If eastleigh and barnet go up in place of Hartlepool and tranmere , league 2 could be more tinpot than the conference!!

A weekend which we didn't play where results go against us and suddenly we no longer have a chance of the title?

We have choked a few times now, when there has been an opportunity to take advantage of Barnet dropping points, this suggests to me 15 games won't be enough to pick up 9 more points more than Barnet even with the game in hand. I think we'll come mighty close though, just hope missing out by the odd point won't damage our confidence too much going into the play offs where anything could happen!

Yes, but who wants to think positively about our realistic chances of winning the league when we can just give up now? Everyone I know wants us out of this league. Woking showed though how much we rely on the drive and enthusiasm of Sinclair. We didn't look like losing but there was little zest about the team without the Beard. I believe we need an least one more creative midfielder and a winger with confidence ~ Gosling has the ability but not the will or inventiveness to attack players. When we get up then we can concentrate on getting in players to sustain the drive needed to stay up.

Depressing weekend with so many great FA Cup stories and we were playing Bradford only a few years ago drawing 3-3 at the Mem.With no Cup interest and the UWE fast disappearing over the horizon a lift is desperately needed so a good win Sat is vital.Play offs won't be good for the blood pressure but with Grimsby ,Barnet and Macc all winning yesterday its not easy seeing the other lot developing their stadium and playing West Ham on TV. Anyway, confident we'll win at Dartford but this lack of games is difficult to deal with.P.S.Blackburn only had less than 6000 yesterday v Premier league Swansea. We had more that locked out at Woking!!!!!!!!!

Next Saturday could be an interesting one, as Dartford's current form is presently the worse in the league having lost their last 4 home games but Halifax have won 3 out of the last 4 of thier home games. If the gaps still effectively 9 pts or more next weekend then it's time to start feeling the worse.

Automatic promotion, or the play-offs, or indeed anything at all?
Just sit back, relax, breathe deeply and try to remain confident . . . even if it is only on the surface.

Odds are in our favour that the gap will be a lot smaller after our next 2 games, maybe just 2 pts.Our 2 games are very winnable and Barnet have a difficult game at Halifax and will have their home game with Woking postponed if Woking get past Dover in their f.a.trophy replay, another tough looking fixture though for Barnet if they do have to tackle Woking as scheduled.KTF everything still to play for.

The biggest positive i saw at Woking was a brief glimpse of what to expect from Easter. High energy, great touch and a play maker. We will score more goals and win more games with him I am sure.

I am very surprised that Clarke has not gone for a central midfielder to greatly increase our chances of going up as Champions. WE need to create things through the middle and at the moment all we have their is a choice of Mansell plus either a very hard worker (Sinclair)or a defensive midfielder (Clarke). There is no real creativity in there and until we get that quality in the team then we will always be on the back foot.

I think the last of the budget was spent on Easter, and although we aren't paying Dawson's wages for the first month, if he stays then that will take up any remaining monies. DC likes the 4-4-2 which relies on creativity coming from out wide and 2 battlers in the middle of midfield, if Ollie Clarke has done his ACL again then DC will have no choice but to get another midfielder in, but i wouldn't expect a creative one has thankfully we don't play with 1 up front and a number 10 anymore.
