Hello all, As we have yet another empty weekend I thought I'd ask you lot to suggest any topics you'd like me to write about for next weeks Rovers article on my weekly blog for the Evening Post website. It could be literally anything... except my resignation as a writer though thanks in advance, Martin (Bull) P.S. i haven't run out of ideas... I genuinely would like to hear what people would like to read about.

I often wonder about the demographics of today's Bristol Rovers supporters.
Are we getting older? Are we losing a generation of Gasheads as our red brethren seem to go from strength to strength, while we lurch from crisis to crisis?
It used to be where you lived in Bristol or your family allegiances determined which Bristol team you supported. Is this still the case?
Is the Premiership taking away swathes of potential Gasheads?
What should we be doing to get the next generation of Gasheads to the Mem?

There is something here. The board and the manager are forever extolling the fans and saying what a big difference they can make to the team, but then treat us with such disdain and provide a poor experience off the pitch (yes on it too last season.)

Should Barry bring back his moustache and does it make him more or less of a twat?

Arab money for Gas - Not in my name. Would it be a help or a hindrance, if some rich oil Sheikh knew our original name?

I think lower league clubs are generally woefully ill informed about their fanbases and a lot could be in for a shock in future. However, I would say that anecdotally given that I'm forced to go to a lot of games as a 'neutral' these days I would say Rovers do better than most at getting youngsters in and of representing a reasonable age range. I still think lower league football offers young people something that supporting a Prem club on the TV does not. I think that link still continues though Rovers could definitely do more to cultivate it.

Not when the CEO doesn't believe in discounts for youngsters (or for anyone if it comes to that) I should clarify that I don't think this has got much to do with anything the club has done - more to do with being in an area with comparatively little competition for younger fans and a long way from being in 'living culture' of Premier League clubs. I'm amazed how many people up in Manchester and surrounds support the local Premier League teams (4 North West giants) but very rarely go. It's weird I expected to be living in a hotbed of football - instead the reality seems to be just a larger critical mass of armchair supporters despite the proximity to the clubs. I have met very few people who 'live football' in the sense of going regularly home and away and most of them tend to be older. United fans particularly seem oddly detatched; I've watched Manchester derbies with people who go to 10-12 United games a year and they really didn't seem all that bothered. I don't know whether that's just a function of being so successful over the years but I found it weird.

Not when the CEO doesn't believe in discounts for youngsters (or for anyone if it comes to that) A season ticket holder can take up to 3 under 11s for the season for the price of the Young Pirates membership (about £14 I believe). So what just over 50p a game

I would suspect 99.9% of those who wear premiership tops around Bristol have never been to a premiership game. They watch "their" club via the TV and that somehow makes them a supporter. I guess it comes down to the definition of a supporter which in our case could range from armchair to paint your house in blue and white quarters.
