Must get the away coaches to pull in to the nearest Sainsburys to where we are playing. Everyone gets off, picks up a basket, wanders around for 5 minutes the leaves empty handed. A bit of a national protest!
As for me I haven't been in one for 2 years

How does that get them quaking in their boots?

Popped out a tweet yesterday about boycotting shamesburys and got a very mixed response. Plenty of Fav's & Retweets, but also some very negative responses from some Gasheads. "What difference will it make?" "Your not gonna achieve nothing" (yes i know, a double negative, that the type of person we have to deal with) "Stupid really, I like Sainsburys food and won't stop shopping there I also collect Nectar points" "They won't miss a few thousand pounds". Unless we have a coordinated campaign on social media, such as #boycottsainsburys for instance i guess it won't have much impact, but i know for a fact that big companies are very sensitive to any negativity towards them on social media. They don't like negative publicity at all. How about crowd funding some billboards around North Bristol with amusing anti-sainsburys slogans encouraging people to shop elsewhere because sainsburys have shafted jobs and investment in north Bristol?

Who's seen those advertising banners at roundabouts? Wouldn't the truth about this deal look rather nice outside sainsburys?

Banners would be an excellent idea as long as the council don`t see fit to remove them as technically they would be illegal. Although I would suspect the South Glos Council might leave them up.
A properly co-ordinated protest on social media might work although a few dozen separate posts probably wouldn`t, but someone would need to organise it.... Do we have a tumbleweed smiley?
And no, I will not be shopping in Sainsburys either although I accept they will not notice, it makes me feel better.

Just target them for the standard refreshment stop on away days. Fill yer pockets and leave! Just like the old days in the motorway services.

I've mentioned this before and been largely ignored but I will try again. If Sainsbury's don't want to open a store in Bristol because they believe it would be unprofitable, what good will attempting to make their other Bristol stores unprofitable do even if it is just a token gesture? Rather than moralising over the contract, the only thing we can do as fans is to make Bristol look more attractive to Sainsbury's, treat them as the patrons of BRFC and encourage all our family and friends to shop at Sainsburys in support of the Gas. Leaflet on the stores behalf around town and set up some stands explaining the situation to local people and what we are hoping to achieve. I like the idea of setting up a an american / sawdust, cowboy ranch style thing near a Sainsburys petrol station with a load of gasheads in cowboy hats, jeans and blue and white squares and a sign saying 'Get your GAS at Sainsburys'.
Just a thought, and one that might actually achieve something rather than a pointless gesture that makes us all look bitter and silly.

I've stopped using Sainsburys since the EP article last summer. That's the shop and petrol station ... tell a lie, I actually do still use them - to dump all my plastic in their recycling bins. Kevin Turvey would also put the plastic in the bottle section.

Or just subverting the adverts they pay for. it's already a well known sport in Bristol.
