I've been boycotting them ever since this all kicked off, it makes no difference to them but it makes me feel better. Ditto.

I've stopped using Sainsburys since the EP article last summer. That's the shop and petrol station ... tell a lie, I actually do still use them - to dump all my plastic in their recycling bins.

I don't shop at Sainsburys because in spite of recent poor publicity Tesco is still a much better supermarket, so no point in me saying I'm joining in with the boycott, although I think it's fair to say Sainsburys would find it cheaper to shut a couple of profitable stores than build and open a loss maker.

Popped out a tweet yesterday about boycotting shamesburys and got a very mixed response. Plenty of Fav's & Retweets, but also some very negative responses from some Gasheads. "What difference will it make?" "Your not gonna achieve nothing" (yes i know, a double negative, that the type of person we have to deal with) "Stupid really, I like Sainsburys food and won't stop shopping there I also collect Nectar points" "They won't miss a few thousand pounds".
Unless we have a coordinated campaign on social media, such as #boycottsainsburys for instance i guess it won't have much impact, but i know for a fact that big companies are very sensitive to any negativity towards them on social media.

I no longer use Sainburys, no chance, no way; they may be a business; however, Bristol is a community they knew what they were getting into from the out set, and are now trying to wriggle out, the UWE Project WAS massive for the Gas and in my opinion Sainsburys have ******* us over. No more patronage from me. UTG

Even if people do boycott them now, will they in the future? I remember not so long ago everyone was going to boycott Gloucester Road but last time I was at Rovers the Welly seemed really busy to me. I'd like to say that I am one of the ones who stuck to my word and have not spent no money on that road for 2 years because what I say I actually mean. I guess there's a difference. Businesses on the Gloucester Road owe us nothing while Sainsbury's actually entered into a deal with us and are now backing out.

Playing devils advocate here! Shouldn't we be doing all our shopping in the Sainsburys around Bristol to show there's a need for a new one, as if everyone stops shopping there it just confirms to them why they don't need a new store?

That's probably irrelevant now - they have already decided not to build a new store

Also, by building a new store they would be looking to get new customers, not just move existing customers, so football at all local supermarkets would be more relevant than Sainsburys alone

If Sainsbury's want any of my cash they're going to have to prise it from my cold dead fingers !

Then again, a series of impromptu 5-a-sides in front of the fish counter might get some media attention...

I'm still in and I can honestly say I will never set foot in a Sainsbury's store ever again. They used to get £150ish of my money every month.
