Every thread on here just ends up with board bashing even if it's something good about the club! Why don't you say how good our youth setup is and give them some credit for what they are doing?

We will certainly be getting quite a bit in transfer/compensation fees this summer won't we... Well we should be, but that's not the point though, is it? What chance have we of resurrecting ourselves, if the ''big name'' clubs cherry pick our best players? And all quite legally of course. We've already lost an excellent prospect in Matt Macey to Arsenal, now two more are being mentioned. The transfer/compensation fees of course are important to the club, but only after you have accepted that the players that you have spent time and money in their development are moving on. I suppose it was always so to a lesser degree, the first time that I was really made aware of the situation was when Scott Sinclair jumped ship and joined Chelsea.

Some people just moan about anything! If this review had been done in 2 weeks people would moan that it was quick and not done properly! Only joined today and it's making me depressed

I was not saying that was the point. I'm just stating the obvious. We won't be able to hold onto these players as a non league club. That's the reality of our situation unfortunately.

Absolutely no need for you to be defensive gasheaduntilidie, as there was no offence intended by me. I was just trying to expand on the point that I thought that you were making. Did you agree (or not) with the rest of my post?

It's a real kick in the teeth for clubs like us that they can just be taken away for literally nothing without us really having any say in the matter.

As for the rest of it, I agree. The rich get richer, and the poor . . . well, you know the rest I'm sure. Sickening ennit?

Don't think we lost anything special in Macey imo. Never thought much of him myself and believe the current u-18 GK is better now than Macey was when he left. Then again, i'm not a football scout.

for all the stadium-knockers, we don't stand a hope in hell of keeping young players until we have a decent stadium, training facilities, gym, physio rooms, etc.
it doesn't guarantee success, but it makes it viable.
as a total aside is Marcus Beauchamp at all related to the Joey Beauchamp who always seemed to do well for Oxford many moons ago. not a very common name I would suspect?

Macey is on standby for Arsenals USA tour this summer and is more than likely going to be Arsenals 3rd choice keeper next season. Yeah. Definitely not a scout.
