If somehow WW gained an advantage through unfair means last season, then considering Rovers went down only on gd,i think WW should be relegated and Rovers reinstated into the FL. I don't see the point in rules if it means cheats prosper. If was by one goal or a 100 points that is totally irrelevant. This Country has nice little point of law "innocent until proved guilty". Particularly as the hard facts in the public domain, it is far from clear there is a case to answer. Marty..

For the record I support the Imps, we blazed the trail into the Conference in 1988. One of the clubs many ignominious firsts! If I was a BRFC supporter I'd be getting concerned at the apparent effort being into this, I'd be concentrating on getting Conference ready. There are some very strong and settled teams in the Conference (I exclude the Imps from that statement). As much as it pains me I can't see much as Grimsby as potential champions, they have a nucleus of a good squad and few astute additions in the close season may see them over the line this season. Wrexham have been quietly building a tidy squad - don't rule Gateshead out too, with their close ties to Newcastle United and ability to get good quality loans from them. I also expect both Kidderminster and Barnet to pushing as well. All these clubs have the nub of settled teams. Marty... Unless you know more than the average Gashead what effort are the club actually putting into this aprt from instruct solicitors to investigate matter on our behalf with the FA? Given it could take us years to get back into the Conference can anybody blame them investigating potential issues?

If they have gained advantage then gd or eg 10 points does make a difference. ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' Basel. If WW (or any club) played players they had on their books through cheating and won points when they played, then that means Rovers are being punished for their cheating. As I said,if cheats are to prosper, then what is the point of rules of the game.

If I were a Lincoln City fan I wouldn't be spending an inordinate amount of time on one specific topic on a Bristol Rovers forum.
Whilst I will speak up and criticise our Board where my opinion dictates (and heavens above there is plenty) I think on this occasion they have it spot on. As you quite rightly and clearly state there is little in the public domain. I therefore fail to see why a Lincoln City fan is trying to generate an environment to alienate Bristol Rovers supporters toward their Board taking this action.
Credit to you for your subtlety.

OK. Just to get a little perspctive here.
I understand that BR supporters feel aggrieved that they were relegated into the Conference and that WWFC stayed up.
I understand that they feel aggrieved that the game when they were 3-1 up was postponed by the Referee due to lightening.
But....................
Your Board have been led astary by the agent and have run with something that has very little substance. He is pissed that he has had his licence revoked and that WWFC have received a fine. However, the WWFC Chairman brought this issue to the table and is the only person who came out of the FA Inquiry with any credit.
So now what will happen.
1) The FA cannot understand why BRFC have raised transfer in 2010 as giving WWFC an advantage in season 2013/14. 2) They feel WWFC have little to answer because of this 3) The FL will follow any decision the FA make. 4) There is very little communication between the FA and the FL on this 5) The FA/FL are considering taking action against BRFC for consulting an agent who has had his licence revoked.
To put things in the open.
a) I am a WWFC Supporter b) I work for a team of Sports Lawyers who have not been approached on this issue biut the industry talks

Hopefully this week we can put this to bed once and for all and start to plan for a first season in the Conference without the distraction of a side-show
My take : if the the allegations were as serious and wide-ranging as some people are suggesting I cannot believe that the press wouldn't be all over this. Sounds like a major scandal which the press boys would love. And the 'club are keeping everything under wraps and confidential' argument doesn't stack up as every Tom, Dick & Harry on here seems to have been told all the 'alleged' detail, so there's no way the press wouldn't have latched on to this.
So there's only one way this can end - Wycombe have no further case to answer, they stay up, we stay down. We look foolish and the lawyers get fatter.

FFS, It does happen you know.
I really don't care whether you believe me or not I have just put out there what I know.
I have been open with you so if you want to believe that WWFC will be drummed out of the FL with a massive fine that will put us out of business that is ok by me

So there's only one way this can end - Wycombe have no further case to answer, they stay up, we stay down. We look foolish and the lawyers get fatter. 5That has been my point for ages. A few people keep telling us that the issue is bigger and deeper than anything we know. The agent has all this evidence, yet this big cover up/ alleged rule breaking activity has caused precisely zero ripples anywhere (publicly at least) and the agent is just waiting to unload it all on the FA. If this is so big, I expect the agent to go the press and dish the dirt to them if this gets thrown out if he truly believes it, or will he be afraid that the gangsters will all come after him or whoever id running this secret money laundering whatever Such a big problem that everyone has kept quiet as not to threaten their pay outs and what not. I get Smith has a beef with Wycombe because he didn’t get his cut and got a ban, but who or what else is he trying to bring down? Sounds like a dodgy agent playing games to me and who’d have thought that hey? Seems to me he would have been better off doing his 6 month punishment and getting back to work because all that will come of this is he won’t be allowed to be a sanctioned agent again

Happy for that. What will be will be, but please do not blame WWFC for your demise when the authorities make there decision.
Your relegation (as ours would have been) was down to the lack of performance over the season by the players, together with poor managemant. It is not down to other teams cheating, wearing your kit etc.
Good luck in the Conference, by the way.

But,IF WW are found guilty of breaking rules that led to an advantage last season and also points gained then they should have these points deducted. If WW are innocent, then good luck to em.

To Basel,
How could a transfer in 2010 lead to an advantage in 2013/14 season ? ................that is the FA/FL's problem in understanding the BRFC claim.

There is not more than has been released by both BRFC and WWFC................you really are clutching at straws, sorry.
From the word in the industry, the FA asked the WWFC Chairman what the BRFC claim was about and why they referred to the Phillips transfer that had already been dealt with. It seems that they are now more interested in taking the BRFC Board to task for wasting their time over this issue.
