I'm certain that I have the correct match details, but the coldest that I can remember ever being at a football match was a game played at Eastville versus Ipswich Town, on 18 February 1978. It was an FA Cup game that we were winning 2-1, but then Ipswich scored and it went to a replay, which we lost. I was stood in the South Enclosure and really found it quite difficult to concentrate on the game because it was so cold. To be honest I was just glad when the ref blew-up for full-time, never mind the result. yes remember it well, and bloody ipswich went on to beat arsenal in the final, disliked em ever since

If my memory serves me right we lost replay 6-0/1? Rovers hired a train and we all went up full of hope only to be 3 down after about 15 minutes. Happy days.

But then again it could have been a fortunate goal, but whatever it was it won't come to the front of my mind. Well beaten in the replay though, I believe. That was a pity, but Ipswich were a very strong team at that time.

But yes we wuz robbed, no question in my mind.

All going soft lads, it wasn't even freezing! Bad as my wife who puts the Central Heating on in September. Damp yes, chilly yes but the coldest ever - get a grip!
Anyone remember the FA Cup tie at Eastville v Ipswich. Or England in Katowice. Or -24 degrees at the bottom of Mollietts in the shade 2 Winters ago!

Remember watching Rovers at the old Wimbledon Plough lane Feb 1982 we lost 1-0 to the crazy gang. Freezing cold day Dave Beasant in goal for them.

I stand corrected , we lost replay 3-0, Ipswich then beat Millwall 6-1 in the next round at the Den.

Went to both the games at Ipswich, remember there fans spitting at us through the fence that split the terracing, and at one of the games someone had a huge banner that read,Martin Thomas holds more balls than Jeremy Thorpe. Also the Dutch lads they had were bloody good,Thiesen and Mauren forgive the spelling

Yesterday goes alongside Hamilton Academicals v Motherwell New Years Day 2011 and any game I played or watched on the pitches at Lansdown as the coldest I have ever been at a football match! Academical - currently level on points with Celtic and its Jan 5th, on target for Europe. Funny old game innit!

I do hope Aberdeen get into Europe again. I was up there in August for the game against Real Sociedad, and it was a great game, in a great atmosphere, in a proper old style football stadium.

I was ok. Apart from my feet, must have been that metal terracing. By halftime everyone around me was doing a wierd irish jig to get some warmth back into the feet, took me half hour in the car to thaw them out!
