I hope the SC don't go quiet on this one, as i'm sure a bit of help from them and a bit of ambition from the BoD will help fund a loan move even if it's only a 1 Month loan. When we get to January if Easter has done well and all parties are happy he could terminate his Millwall deal and sign an 18 month contract with us. A player who has 12 international caps and scored goals and Championship & League 1 level is the type of quality that we need, and i applaud DC for being brave and going after a big name that many people think is out of our reach. Good to see the days of signing old mates like Bond & Gillepsie are gone.

If we can't afford him then they've done the right thing in my opinion. Our income should be more than enough to make us very competitive in this league and the one above. It's not like we're sitting on massive cash reserves. Top post. I was going to post the same.

It's not like we're sitting on massive cash reserves. Nah no big cash reserves, only about £100m fortune in cash and assets between 3 of the directors. One thing you can say about the BoD is they are consistent, at a time where Toni Watola seems adamant the board have their pension pots filled soon and there are still fans who see the BoD as big Gasheads it's hard to understand why that A word is not being put to test to see a swift return to the fourth tier of English football.

This is Scandalous and the board must not be allowed to get away with it! I'm absoloutley livid about this. This all smacks of the "Blimey the Gates of held up after Relegation" no need to panic... Mode the Board adopted after are initial Relegation in 2001. Thus seeing us stagnate and gradually become a fully fledged Leauge two/4th division club! The same lack of ambition which saw us start last season woefully unprepared and culminated in humiliation at the end of the season.. you can see why good managers/players thrive before and after there with us.. The lack of ambition and urgency runs right thru our club and eventually infects the dressing room! Clarke and these players are trying very hard to stop this rot but it seems an old dog never changes it's spots! Feel for them and disgusted with are phoney board who when Asked to walk the talk are found wanting as always! f******g ws... Mmmm... Let's hope the story is actually true then - jeez

For those ambitious fans I'm sure the board will be more than happy if you want to fund this loan signing.
You do have to laugh at some posters who very recently were saying we only need to worry about a goalscorer if it starts affecting are league position now demanding the board sign Easter regardless of cost.

I see Brian on Twitter denies that the board have stood in the way of any signings.

I see BSS has posted a truer version of events, it's a shame that the WHOLE story is not in the open.
I think DC is under a lot of strain at the moment, even taking into account our current league standing and he appears to be lashing out in all directions.
Perhaps DC needs to come clean about EXACTLY what went on.

I think Brian has given a Politicians answer, his wording is very carefully chosen I think. He says "I am sure you have read the stories which are being circulated which is suggesting that the Bristol Rovers Board has blocked efforts by manager Darrell Clarke to sign a striker SUCH AS (my capitalisation) Jamaine Easter" - are the stories that the Board has blocked attempts to sign ANY striker or are they that they have blocked the specific signing of Easter? The key words here are 'such as'. I don't doubt that the BoD will support DC to sign 'a' striker. But will they support the signing of ANY striker? And have they specifically said NO to Easter? If the cost is too much then they are probably right to block the move in my humble opinion.

i was thinking go for a league 2 striker on the same wages as lee brown/tom parkes but a championship one on 3 times more again at least seems a bit silly to me
