Discussions are ongoing regarding the introduction of B teams into competitions outside the pyramid.” Dyke denied that the snub from the Football League undermined the Commission. “It won’t happen, I don’t think, in the way we suggested but I think it will happen in a range of different ways,” Dyke told Sky Sports News HQ. " No ill will against the guy for proposing it, annoyingly I've never actually been able to develop a particularly literate argument against it but I am glad we will retain the existing league structure with freedom for football clubs to move up and down the pyramid.

I've got massive ill will against him for suggesting it. The bloke brokered the deal to create the Premier League, which has ended in almost no major clubs owned or managed by Englishmen, big rich clubs buying English kids for pittances from helpless FL clubs and never playing them so they waste their careers, 60-odd Englishmen playing regularly at the top level, and whole PL teams not picking even 1 English player in starting XIs.
And he wanted the Football League to change to further placate his rich friends (remember he was a major shareholder at Man U before).
The man's a negative influence on the FA and the game, as shown by his "England commission" which hires semi-literate rent-a-gobs like Rio "was my drug test today?" Ferdinand to slag people off, and his sudden realisation today that the grass roots game is suffering - yeah well done Greg, everyone else knew that years ago.
The pyramid is the envy of the world and just about the only good thing about English football at present so I'm glad that the League told him to stick his plans where they won't see the sun.

That gave me a right laugh

I agree with Dagnogo.
Dyke is only interested in money, football doesn't come into it.

I thought you wanted Rovers to be City's B-team?

I thought you wanted Rovers to be City's B-team? Yours words, never mine. I said we could draw on talent from the city reserves / academy to bulk up our squad whilst controlling our wage bill. I also think we should bring in a few part timers for the same reason but that doesn't mean I want us to be a part time club.

I find it incredible that Greg Dyke, who was involved with a lower league club (Brentford), could be so clueless about football.
He's a ****.
