I think you are wilfully conflating two separate issues. Its just a pretty standard bit of local news for the Post to report - what they need to have a product really

Surely it could be hidden in a 'news in brief' segment.

It's a bad precedent to set . . . hiding news.

I find the football banning orders strange. Would you get banned from The Mall for five or six years if you pushed a police officer and swore?

Probably yes if you were in the Mall when it was closed and then confronted a policeman doing his duty by escorting you off the premises you should not have been on in the first place. Please let's all stop defending this behaviour every time it's reported.

Rob Scott is certainly at most home and away games, thought he just dressed a bit like a hooligan always seemed more interested in the actual football from what I could see.

Please no more pleading on behalf of people who are either too drunk or too stupid to avoid 'trouble' The small minority forget that the majority had the same levels of anger and disappointment but still had enough about them NOT to break rules and laws
Frankly I would be quite happy for some to be banned for life !
If you cannot control your emotions then may be you should stop 'supporting' your team?

I was wondering if these sentences will cost any of them their jobs?

Why are they a fool? How people cant control themselves i dont know What do you think that custodial sentences are warranted for what is nothing more than over exuberance at a football match?, some people can control theirselves more than others possibly down to age amongst other things but to possibly ruin someone's career by handing out a prison sentence is nothing short of madness. A fine , community service and a ban should surely of sufficed. The law is an ass.

I think 'over exuberance' is a strange way of trying to 'cover up' their stupidity - people should think before they act - If I drive I don't drink / If I drive I don't use a mobile unless hands free ...............From my experience the 'worst' trouble makers are not the youngsters they are blokes over mid twenties to mid thirties .... really should know better

Perhaps the time will give him a kick up the arse to fecking grow up. The other has previous and was found guilty of possesion of a class A drug earlier in the year. Not sure i feel so sorry for him How can thousands manage it but a few get all over excited and feel the need to go on the pitch. Whats wrong with shouting and screaming from the terrace. Why are football fans supposed to be excused under the bollox passion defence? What other sports does it happen in over here?

Why should he, his 'over exhuberance' like thousands of others didn't end up on the pitch bringing the club into disrepute
