Personally, I think he is possibly the most clueless manager in our history. We had a few decent players - he has destroyed their confidence. He signed some non-league 'stars' to solve our goalscoring problem? None of them hit the target. He can play all sorts of different ways - none of his tactics create more than 2 or 3 chances a game. He has succeeded in sticking the knife into John Ward... well done. It's your team now, DC... what exactly have you achieved?

I don't disagree but DC didnt appointment him into the role, NH should do the decent thing and now step away completely from the football side of the club. Expecting a rookie manager to sort out the biggest mess in non league football was always going to be asking too much.

He is good for making us realise we have hit rock bottom Ahem, we haven't hit rock bottom!!!....... And until the club does it will not be able to rebuild and attempt a climb back up the league. The club is firefighting but the flames are just getting bigger.

He is good at showing us that the problems at this club stem back further than a few months. You don't get from the top half of league one to the bottom half of the conference in under four years without doing something wrong...

We have had too many ' managers ' Buckle McGee Ward who since Trollope was sacked have been allowed to bring in their own players and way too many loan signings. I dont like a lot of what DC has bought in to the club . Ex Southern conference standard players will go a long way to putting us in that league. However, we have to give the guy at least 25 games to show us that his way could be right. We have a threat in Harrison uo front. USE HIM ! We have a solid back four and keeper. DONT CHANGE THAT . Consistency helps confidence and to win games. Show us you are managing the right way . 10 more games left to prove yourself DC.

He was never the man for the job in the first place, totally out of his depth and then some.
Seems a nice, likeable bloke but that won't win us football matches or get us anywhere. But obviously you cannot blame DC for taking a job he was offered, yet again Higgs & Co shoulder the blame for that one. Not that they will ......

I get what you are saying and agree with it to a point about so many managers in recent history. But give DC 25 games before judging him??? We really will be deep in the doo doo by then if the evidence so far is anything to go by.

Do people think Clarke's recruitment has been determined by a vastly diminished playing budget or a simple lack of understanding about football?

I agree with that, he is one man who has talked about things that have gonr on at the club more honestly than others. Is he the right manager though? My answer is anyone the right manager whilst the club as a whole hasnt got a fecking clue what it is doing?

Jesus, first it was ten games and now people see that that is only three games away from being up and we're still effed it's suddenly 25! What next when they're up? The season? A year?

Do people think Clarke's recruitment has been determined by a vastly diminished playing budget or a simple lack of understanding about football? I'd say both are clearly a factor. They rushed into giving DC the dreaded vote of confidence after the last football league game that's for sure. There's no money at the club, that we all know, but DC has hardly made shrewd signings even taking the finances into consideration.

Chris Jelf was also full of the talk at the Q&A and said the board would not allow another John Ward situation. He said he has a role to oversee the manager's performance. How can he do this if he does not attend games? In fact there was only ONE director at Braintree - the much maligned Ken Masters.
DC sat in the dugout for most of the second half doing little. In the post match interview it was all down to the ref or the players - 'nothing to do with me guv.'
(He also seems to have little idea of nutrition, as a I was leaving the ground a Domino's Pizza car was delivering a stack of pizzas to the team coach.)
