Dr Jekyl or Mr Hyde Henbury Gas? What is your sudden change of heart on all this and what point would be going into administration when it is their own money? Not long ago it was all go with you on the Stadium..can't believe the change in your posts.

We are at the very last hurdle now and i think with BCC Planning dept backing our proposals to the Appeal Inspector i think we have a very good chance of putting this issue to bed My observation re Administration is based on our very poor cashflow issues and the reluctance of board members to fund the loses anymore

Well I very much hope so Henbury Gas, Just wondered because i always read your posts on the subject of the Stadium and things in general. Have to say i would be very surprised if we went into administration as we seem to be cutting our costs so much to compensate for the relegation and until the Stadium is dead in the Water i am sure ALL directors will want the ship to stay afloat.

Whilst BCC may support the delivery times is there any evidence Sainsbury's have had a change of heart and wish to build the store? If not I can only see us becoming involved in a lengthy compensation battle.

Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk I Think The Store itself will not be built if Sainsbury "Have" to buy the mem. it will either Land bank or sit on it until Large Stores become viable again. Was speaking to the manager of a Tesco Express recently and a recent Study by Tesco has shown the trend towards the High Street "convenience" stores is not working because customers now are more concerned about Price not availability. Last year Tesco made approx 40% of there overall profit from Express stores, this year its projected to be 30%-35% So the rise of the Lidl's of this world is what is working at the moment, i wonder if Sainsbury will reactivate its budget brand (Neto ?) and put that on the mem ?? Also found out if Sainsbury do buy the mem and leave the stadium as is they have to pay council tax on it....

That is the biggest load of rubbish I have ever heard. I am happy to apologise if it turns out so, but not having it at this stage.

I can't see the BoD putting the club into administration while the UWE still has a very outside chance of success - they may be creditors but they would lose a lot. Being cynical I expect the answer for today is 'not very much'. However, some clarity about the future would be nice but unexpected.

Lets put it another way, When BCC Planning turned down the application they where following govt Guidelines, the planning inspectorate do not have to. BCC have not objected to the application

I expect it's to sanction a couple of new signings before the transfer window closes. ;-) As to people saying the club might go into admin, I can't see that happening whilst the directors are the biggest creditors and are willing to carry on funding their losses. Interesting that GD has placed a charge on the stadium, do the owners have to agree to this happening?

Geoff wouldnt stand down and call his loans in would he? I assumed the charge is just to make sure any loans are recouped should the worst happen now he is no longer an active investor

Geoff wouldnt stand down and call his loans in would he? I assumed the charge is just to make sure any loans are recouped should the worst happen now he is no longer an active investor When I first joined the board the club was skint and a couple of directors had resigned. Geoff explained that it was the norm at Bristol Rovers to repay directors loans when directors stood down so that future investors wouldn't be put off by previous directors struggling to recover their loans. Geoff honoured this with the resignations of 2006 so I don't see why he shouldn't have his loans repaid now that he has stood down. Shareholding is different and Geoff's shares still look to be a good investment as long as The UWE goes ahead.

Excuse my ignorance on this but isn't GD the owner ? I keep being given differing accounts. Also, what does placing a charge on it actually mean please ?

A charge is something that secures a loan against property - a mortgage for example. It makes an unsecured loan a secured loan. The difference being the lender knows that they'll always be able to force the sale of land if they have to to recover the money or if the borrower sells the land or goes bankrupt the lender can recover the money.
