We have played Wigan 29 times since 1982 - W11, D7, L11 - Biggest win 6-1 & 5-0, Loss 4-0 and the draws have been 0-0 or 1-1... Wigan were founded in 1932, are known as the Latics or the Tics and play at the DW stadium which has a capacity of 25,138... Manager Shaun Maloney is 41 and played his 462 career games for Celtic, Aston Villa, Wigan, Hull City and Scotland... Since Wigan Athletic entered the Football League in 1978, the clubs main rivals are with Bolton Wanderers, the club's primary derby match. Wigan also have other local rivalries with Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Blackpool and Rochdale. A nothing to play for game, we cannot finish lower than where we are in 15th, Wigan in 13th can only rise a couple of places with a win. We want an entertaining end to end encounter, give this season to forget a big kick up the backside and look forward to the next...5-5 maybe. All games in League 1 are a 12.30pm Kick-off... upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/43/Wigan_Athletic.svg/180px-Wigan_Athletic.svg.png V upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/47/Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg/200px-Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg.png

It's been a disappointing season and I'm concerned next time will be even worse.
It's not all bad but I just don't see or feel enough good vibe.
I hope Cheltenham Town stay up.

Dour, uninteresting fixture from the outside.
Players politics and pride is the only thing to play for apart from the most important predictions and bets on various forums and bookmakers...
For me, this is the first return to Wigan since the two in one season (one was the latest postponement ever!) in our promotion year 1990. This is my only new stadium this season.
I wonder how many can say that!?
Writing now in transit, a sunny but under chill day will play out in a forgetful last game , no doubt. Last chance to see some. Last chance for them to see us.
I find this a wasted opportunity season....I think it's a weaker sandwich of two stronger, because the clubs coming into our league next year look more spendy and established.
A season mostly of disappointment with the odd pearls of joy.....but as we career faster into post season blues and the end, at least we can celebrate we are still here
And, 3rd division inane football is some we could only have dreamt of in most of this sad century....
Enjoy your football consumption and safe journeys everyone.... UptheGas!

Nice stadium to savour.Recall Ollie's Blackpool winning there in the Prem.Won't be making the effort today and will be glad when our season is finished.New injection of Ideas,Ground improvements, less talk about the Quarters and more action and less mediocrity all round and please can we get the South Stand properly sorted.P.S Rob is there!!!!!!!( Reckon last time we see Brown hopefully even though he has another year on his contract).

26 Feb 1983 Wigan Athletic 0 Rovers 5 I was among just 3,288 fans at the Springfield Park stadium to watch Rovers 38 year old midfielder Alan Ball 1966 World cup winner give a master class in passing. He was absolutely remarkable on a muddy cut up pitch. Can't recall exactly how many goals he set up but he was immense on that afternoon.

Brown up front again!, guess he is the only option, very poor for the paying travelling faithful.

All Wigan. Rovers crap. Latest... The last three games have been truly awful. It's been a combination of lacklustre individual performances and a team devoid of shape, structure and ideas. Today looks equally poor and I have a bad feeling this result may end up being embarrassing.

Inevitable, 700 travelling being dished up dross. Fair play to every single one of those fans, deserve far better from so called professional footballers!

Inevitable, 700 travelling being dished up dross. 700 mugs travelling. Why bother for a dead rubber. They're Rovers supporters, faithful and true. Why are they mugs? They can spend their money just as you choose not to. Good luck to them.
