The day has arrived when surely the Gas must score again! A packed rocking Mem, the cider and beer flowing, the caps flying off bottles, a shock wave of noise over Bristol and South Gloucestershire, tears flowing, a Renaissance era begun!! Who needs the paltry side distraction of Champions League football when you have real football on display at the Mem!! And then we all wake up to reality. Tablets please nurse.....
Yes folks its 15th vs 17th in League One. Are the Rovers players up for it in the wind and rain? Are beach towels and transfers away calling or will they show up and put in a show of what they are really capable of. Who knows? I won't say, who cares?!! Technically we can still be relegated. Also depends if Reading come and play physical against our wimpy players. It has all the hallmarks of Accrington away at the end of last season. Horrible weather, horrible conditions, no interest from the players who would be elsewhere!
I sincerely hope this is the day the team get back to showing us what they can do on their day. I live in hope, but it's the hope that kills you. Forecast 1-1 Jed Ward goal from a half volley with the wind behind him, lobbing the Reading keeper.....

I know this is mostly tongue in cheek anyway but I don’t think it’ll be packed. Maybe an attendance guess? I’d say 6,200

Indeed Texas I think it will be quite a low attendance with current form, bad weather, the availability to watch on ifollow and general lack of enthusiasm.

Indeed Texas I think it will be quite a low attendance with current form, bad weather, the availability to watch on ifollow and general lack of enthusiasm. it’s been over 20 years since we last played the Royles at home. With the weather set fair (sunny, breezy and dry) and Reading expecting around 1500 fans to make the short journey up the M4 So with a healthy.attendance of 8000 plus, under the Mem lights, it all bodes well for a cracking atmosphere. MT in his pre match, considers Ruben Selles side’s performances this season, to be in a similar vein to the Gas consistently inconsistent, He is of the opinion that there is a naivety in their game, of which he hopes to capitalise on tonight I am therefore expecting a Goal Fest, and if we get the first goal, we could go on to win comfortably, as did Bolton who put five pass them recently, and who only edged it Saturday thanks to a world class save by Gordan Banks. Come On! UTG

A goodly amount of optimism in the opening thread exchanges, fair play!. I will do my bit and give up the sleep to tune into ifollow at 2.45am. Whenever I think of Reading, Michael Meaker springs to mind. I thought at the time he would be a good signing, scored a blinder shortly after joining us at home against Reading with a mazy dribble and shot in a match Rovers ran out 4-1 Winners. Unfortunately that was about it though, the promise fizzled out sharpish with Meaker only scoring 2 goals in 27 for the Gas between 1998/2001. So tonight I’m going for a repeat 4-1 win - Oh Yes COYB.
Always worth a mention : 16 Jan 1999 Reading v Bristol Rovers 0-6 League Division 2

7999 I dont think I can be bothered. So unlike me but the love has been sucked as the seasons progressed. If I believed we could score 3 I'd review my decision.

600 mins without a goal will surely end this evening.
Evans to hit a free kick top corner after 15 mins to the relief of his team mates Manager and Gasheads.
A welcome three points to keep our status and instill some confidence.

Yes, we will score tonight, a Rooney over-head by CM, a Ronaldo free-kick by AN OTHER and a Beckham style in his own half by JW wind assisted...

I`ll come home, and find Lana Del Rey waiting for me.... I wish you every fortune, but while our promotion or relegation season's over, I expect Taylor to get some footballers playing for pride, BRFC, the paying supporters, and his bloody record for that matter. Home to Reading is a game to win, so please show Gasheads something worth supporting tonight.

Watching on I follow as I've got work at 12am...I wouldn't have gone anyway, we are shocking, worst in many a year.
Looks like our smallest home gate since our conference season.5k-6k home fans.Dont we have 5-6k season ticket holders? It's looks like it's only around that number.Gate will be 6.8k due to them.
We are terrible and we were not before Taylor came in. Not saying get rid,or bring back JB but it's passionless, boring and pointless. He needs to answer questions.
What happeneds if we lose the rest of our games which is more odds on than adds against right now.
How can he keep his job going into next season?

Not the start we all wanted…. What are the odds on MT not saying that exact phrase in a monotone in the after-match post-mortem? This is getting ridiculous now. When are we going to stop giving ourselves mountains to climb?

Rovers struggling to get a foothold, Reading the better side by far, so far.
