Hoole having a mare here, giving the ball away more than getting to his colleagues! Two passes went astray thar i remember Would help if the 6 in front of him were better with their passing.

Half time 0-0 Better than Port Vale, and some battling. Not sure what's going on with Evans and Finley, but not up to their ability. A few attacking crosses from Sinclair, but not the pace he had. For a big man, Martin spending more of his time falling over and on the ground than battling in the box. Some good movement by Aguilera, but this ain't Argentina in front of him. He looks bemused at times. Shrews not really threatening although we are threatening to give it to them. A win today would be nice! Or how about one of those goal things that I've heard tell of

Shrews coming into this and could probably be ahead if they stepped up another notch. We seem less threatening this half.

Am I right in saying it’s been over 7 hours of football without scoring?

Am I right in saying it’s been over 7 hours of football without scoring? 8 apparently! Ward scuffing a shot that was right on his toes! Thomas has made a difference....

Am I right in saying it’s been over 7 hours of football without scoring? We've just had our best move in seven hours, creating our best chance in seven hours but with finishing like Ward's it will be another seven before we score.

Given the results and performances in the last five games since the Leyton Orient game, MT should be given the summer and the first ten games of next season. Continue like this, and we will be looking for a new manager.

Better than Friday, but end of season, nothing to play for, with Shrews not offering too much. Will be interesting to see the side against Bolton. Will be a very different game.

Marginal improvement but still another sub standard performance.
On a positive note, we didn't lose and I think that one point has secured L1 football for next season.
Given our current form and the form of Bolton/Aaron Collins, Saturday could be embarrassing.

April fools day..better effort from all the players ..another disappointing 90 mins without a goal a shot off the post denied Rovers a possible winner. That's 510 mins without finding the net bring on Bolton Wanderers. We always play better against challenging teams. Great to see Luke Thomas back in action. Man of the match Antony Evans. Aguilera an honourable mention for his endeavour.

Aaron Collins scored his first Bolton hat-trick as Wanderers beat Reading 5-2 to register a first League One win in three games and revive their automatic promotion hopes.
Collins netted a stunning 11th-minute opener and then converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time after Lewis Wing's deflected long-range effort brought the Royals level.
He completed his first treble for more than two years after 77 minutes as Bolton closed to within three points of second-placed Derby, who travel to leaders Portsmouth on Tuesday night.

I didn’t think it was too bad. Evans was the best player on the pitch. Ward had a good game. Hoole had some good moments, and a scary one, and so did the rest of the back four but they looked more solid than on Friday. No lack of effort from anyone. Shame that shot from Brown didn’t go in, he could do with a stroke of fortune going his way.

i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9200007.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200/0_3583103.jpg Bristol Rovers' Brandon Aguilera battles for the ball against Shrewsbury Town's Tom BaylissBristol Rovers were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Shrewsbury Town in Monday’s Sky Bet League One encounter. An entertaining and, at times, frantic stalemate saw both teams hit the woodwork in the second half. Aiden O’Brien almost gave the Shrews a shocking lead with a half-volleyed strike from distance, while Jevani Brown went close to a late winner when his effort hit the base of the post. But the best efforts of Chris Martin, Brandon Aguilera and Luke Thomas could not find the back of the Shrewsbury net, leading to a share of the spoils for both sides. A sign of Rovers’ intent was shown in the early exchanges when Antony Evans’ free-kick caused havoc in the Shrewsbury box. Luca Hoole came close to meeting the ball, but could not turn his header on target. As the away side looked to slow down play, the Gas pressed well. The returning Aguilera stole possession in the Shrews’ third and played in striker Martin on the right. The forward’s attempt to find the far corner was narrowly wide, while the incoming Harvey Vale was just a second away from a simple tap-in. Paul Hurst’s visitors only really troubled Rovers when the home side played themselves into trouble, such as a moment of miscommunication between Hoole and goalkeeper Jed Ward, which gave Shrewsbury their first corner of the match. The Gas were able to clear at the second attempt. Aguilera continued to cause problems for Shrewsbury, driving forward and earning Rovers a corner with a well-taken shot. Sam Finley also volleyed a strike straight into goalkeeper Marko Maroši’s grateful gloves, before another Martin effort was smothered by the Shrewsbury shot-stopper. It was Shrewsbury who registered the first chance of the second half, as midfielder O’Brien hit a fierce half-volley that rattled the cross-bar; a warning sign for the home side that the match would not be all their own way. The introduction of returning duo Grant Ward and Luke Thomas added more impetus to the Rovers’ attack, with the pair involved in a superb move started by Evans on 70 minutes. Thomas’ fizzed pull-back was attacked by Ward but bobbled wide. Ward again threatened with a volleyed effort from Martin’s chest down, before substitute Brown had Rovers’ best chance with an effort from six yards out just moments after entering the fray. His shot struck the base of the woodwork. Indeed, the final few moments at The Mem were frantic. Jed Ward was forced into a clever save in the closing exchanges while Thomas also sent a shot wide at the near post. But neither side could force the breakthrough in a close-fought encounter, and both teams left the field after the final whistle as they entered it. Teams:
Bristol Rovers: Ward, Gordon, Wilson, Finley, Sinclair (Brown 83), Aguilera (Ward 59), Taylor, Martin (Marquis 83), Vale (Thomas 67), Evans, Hoole. Subs not used: Cox, Connolly, McCormick. Booked: Finley Shrewsbury: Marosi, Feeney, Dunkley, Flanagan, Benning, Winchester, Perry (Bowman 76), Bayliss (Hinchy 76), Sobowalem (Bloxham 61), O'Brien (Idowu 76), Udoh. Subs not used: Burgoyne, Sraha, Bennett. Booked: Bayliss, Dunkley, Flanagan
