The positive is we scored twice And for the statos we have only lost once this year! Relax enjoy the free hit at Norwich City things xpuls be a lot worse losing at home to Millwall in the 92nd minute and losing £25 million! Just say again..what were we fretting ( rightly) about Wael losing £wise?

Quality honest interview. Same issue under the previous incumbent - when opposition get physical we struggle to cope. Quality teams that pass the ball we can play well against. Ugly physical teams we struggle against but I think he knows that already. Things to work on. Has a plan for the window but like his realistic expectations.

Disappointing today and a few players had a nightmare, I’m sure Taylor will not play as badly again this season. But he’s been excellent so far so I’ll give him some slack for today. Overall we looked a bit tired after several games recently. I know Wycombe have had the same but looking at their results I bet after who we played and how we had to battle it took more out of us than Wycombe have expended recently. I’ll put today down as a bad day at the office. Cox played very well but he was caught out on the first goal being wrong footed. Had he dived Im sure he’d have turned it over the bar. But a good day for him. Another two goals for Chris M but we do have to play a certain way for that to happen and we didn’t do that enough early on today.
We have fought ourselves into a decent position on the edge of the playoff challengers but we are a bog standard mid table League 1 team. With anspirations to be better!! And of course we can still challenge if we can repeat the wins we had before today.
Tbf I thought Wycombe played well today after a bad run and produced the kind of effort we all want our sides to give. Their keeper played well but I thought he was booked earlier and then when he was booked after trying to hold the ball after our first goal I was expecting a red to be shown. Presumably it was someone else. The ref did ok although Vokes was lucky to be still on the pitch after avoiding the second yellow. I would imagine the Wycombe player sent off will be in even deeper trouble after refusing to leave the field and he’ll miss an extra game for that.
But the team came back well and had Jevani B not shot just wide with the last touch we’d have completed the best comeback of the season. So we need to take that into the next match. Instead of inter passing on the edge of our own penalty area this time I thought we overdid the passing around on the edge of their box. We saw at the end what happened when we crossed and got the ball into their box. Had we done that more often earlier on we might have had more chances as we saw that they struggled with Chris M and John M in the box.
Sure that Matt T would have learnt something today, more bad than good but we’ve got a bit of a league gap now so time to have time coaching them into his ways.
UTG!

I thought exactly the same. And so did Ali Durden. Wycombe's number 6, Ryan Tafazolli, was the one cautioned. It's fine for the GK to throw it to him to take the goal kick but when he threw it back to the GK, that was delaying the restart, a cautionable offence.

I honestly thought the keeper got booked twice but not sent off. Once kicking out a goal kick. Once more when CM was trying to get the ball off him. I know I'm wrong, but that's how it looked to me on the wireless with pictures. I thought exactly the same. I thought the same at the time, now watching the clip above can see ref pointing at Defender.

'Most disappointed I've been' - Matt Taylor offers scathing verdict after 'soft' Wycombe defeat..By Daniel Hargraves
Bristol Rovers were beaten 3-2 at Wycombe Wanderers on New Year's Day but almost completed an incredible comeback in stoppage timei2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9007088.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200/0_3535761.jpgMatt Taylor has admitted that he was the most disappointed he's been with a Bristol Rovers performance during his short time as manager following the Gas' 3-2 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers on New Year's Day, insisting that his side were too 'soft.' It was a flat opening hour from the visitors at Adams Park as Wycombe came out of the traps immediately looking for a first league win since October 7 and eventually found a deserved opener just shy of the hour mark through a Ryan Tafazolli header. There was little improvement in the early stages of the second half from Rovers but they saw momentum shift in their favour as Chairboys captain Josh Scowen was shown a red card for a high challenge on Sam Finley in the 62nd minute. That saw Taylor's side push for the equaliser with Wycombe goalkeeper Max Stryjek making a good save to deny Chris Martin while Luke Thomas fired just over the crossbar. Frustratingly, the 10 man hosts were able to find quickfire second and third goals to make the result appear beyond doubt before a late Chris Martin double threatened a miraculous comeback from the visitors. Discussing the defeat which comes with further disappointment considering the impressive victories over Bolton Wanderers, Portsmouth and Charlton recently, Taylor reflected: "Poor. This is the most disappointed I've been. The manner of the performance for 55 minutes of that game, we were soft. I've just said to the players, people will think we're soft physcially but we were soft with the ball, we were soft with our running, soft with our mindset, soft with our team spirit. "We never got any control in that game and then the sending off happened and we look like we're in control all of a sudden because we're going to find an extra pass and move the ball. Then, as has been this reoccuring pattern, we make two incredible decisions and don't see out the danger and don't defend our box. "We have to understand that when the game isn't fully on our terms, can we be effective individually and then collectively? I just said there there are certain things that I won't accept as a reflection of me as manager. I thought too many of our games went and our personality on top of that was poor, and I mean poor. They'll be shown and they'll be told and we won't accept it." i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9007331.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_3535964.jpgThere was plenty of discussion pre-match as the team sheet showed no James Wilson in the Bristol Rovers squad. The centre-back had been a doubt after picking up a calf issue in the Charlton win on Friday but the severity of the issue is much worse than feared with Taylor revealing that the 35-year-old will be out for months instead of weeks. However, he also admitted it doesn't change their plans for the transfer window while a recall for Morecambe loanee James Connolly is possible. "It's a pretty bad calf injury so it's not weeks, it will be into the months," the Gas boss stated. "How many months I don't know just yet. There will be an initial recovery process that he'll go through but initial scan results aren't great. "It doesn't change what we were planning to do. We have some plans in private that we're going to execute in the next week or so so it doesn't change it too much but we do feel we're a bit light in that department. Maybe in terms of seniority there. Now, unfortunately, that's nigh-on impossible to get in January in this window so we'll have to be there to not make do but ensure that we improve personnel. "There's certainly a chance that he'll [Connolly] come back."

Taylor was turned with ease by Blackett against Charlton. Blackett then had an awful shot. As well as Taylor is playing he has a mistake in him each game, suppose that's why he is in L1

When the defence has a bad day, we all have a bad day.
If other parts of the pitch have a bad day, other players can makeshift compromise.

Especially first half. Nobody seemed capable of keeping hold of the ball, never mind doing something constructive with it.

Match stats: Wycombe 3 BRFC 2 - Possession: 33% - 67% - Shots: 24-19 - On Target: 8-7 - Corners: 6-6 - Referee: Leigh Doughty - Attendance: 5,318 (1,002 away)
Ten-man Wycombe ended a run of 12 games without a win in League One as they defeated Bristol Rovers 3-2 in a thriller at Adams Park.
Chairboys fans would have been forgiven for fearing the worst when Josh Scowen was sent off with just over an hour played, but their side started the year with three much-needed points.
Wycombe began well and deservedly took the lead after 29 minutes when Ryan Tafazolli planted home a header from Luke Leahy's cross.
Aaron Collins struck a post for Rovers before half-time and their hopes were raised by a straight red for Scowen in the 61st minute for a reckless tackle on Sam Finley.
Despite being a man down, the Chairboys extended their lead as Sam Vokes bundled in Tafazolli's knock-down from Leahy's corner before Leahy himself calmly rounded Matt Cox to add a third.
They were still made to sweat in stoppage time, however, as Chris Martin pulled two goals back for the Pirates from Harvey Vale crosses, but time for an unlikely equaliser ran out.

Dull isn't necessary a negative thing, we're not all competing plumage.
I do hope we're in the famous quarters on Saturday though...

My point is that grey is more difficult to pick out than a brighter colour, I remember Terry Cooper banishing the green/black quarters. Think high viz, yellow,orange,pink.....low viz grey used as camouflage by most air forces and navies... That split second when trying to pick out a team mate could be important, thats why bright colours have traditionally been used for football shirts, why an away shirt should be different I dont know.
