.... That the thread board is dominated with Higgs' mess and related consequence of his incompetence and there is no exciting chatter about the last two pieces of Darren Clarkes jigsaw that surely he is working on ?
Or ... is this really all there is to talk about and there are no further additions to our Squad?

If I remember correctly, NH said a few days ago that the club was hoping to recruit a couple of ''new faces,'' but yesterday that was downgraded to one new player (hopefully) before the closure of the window on Monday. There's never a dull moment, is there?

Are there any players still there worth considering, do you think?

I still think we should sign Ryan Higgins and allow Tom Lockyer to play in midfield, even on a short-term contract a la Trottman

I just think its a real shame that there are so called Rovers supporters who continually want to put the boot into Darrel Clarke. Many of them conspicuous by there absence since the Telford win and the Forest Green draw which tempered their `concerns` for a while. They then return on the day before the Halifax game probably in the hope to reignite what has tempered since those two games. Funny that.

DC is the first manager we've had in a long time who hasn't given job's to mates and that includes his Backroom team.

Here's a great point, DC said Higgins couldn't handle the pressure of playing in front of 6,000 every week so we went for Leadbitter who had more experience. Leadbitter is struggling, so DC was spot on with his reasons for not signing Higgins.

As for Higgins, good going forward but struggled with his defensive duties in the friendlies I watched. I think Clarke has reverted to a flat back four as the full backs cant adapt to their wing back roles.

After FGR I'd have Trotman and Lockyear as my centrehalves.

No i dont think there are,it was a bit tongue in cheek because i dont think DC has the contacts he said he has,and a number of fans have recommended players for him to look at but not had the decency of a reply

Leadbitter is struggling, so DC was spot on with his reasons for not signing Higgins. I didn't know that DC had said this, but I would say the complete opposite. Higgins comes from a recent background higher up the leagues and with the excellent pedigree of captaining Everton's youth side. He looked assured and confident on the ball in the pre-season games I saw and importantly could fill any spot on the right at the back and in midfield. Similar to Lockyer - maybe, but I still think he would prove to be an asset. Leadbitter is fast....very fast, and hasn't done that bad a job, but on the evidence I have seen, he needs more time to get used to the pressure(?) of playing in front of the Rovers crowd. It doesn't look as though Higgins has found a club (I may be wrong), so as a free agent we still may be in with a shout.

I think Clarke has reverted to a flat back four as the full backs cant adapt to their wing back roles. Admittedly, I didn't see the Gloucester game, but I thought he coped pretty well defensively in the games I saw. I can't remember a goal or anything like it coming from a Higgins mistake..........senility is kicking in mind you!

But having said that, he does appear to be making a half-decent stab at it . . . thus far at least.

Ok may be not from Salisbury but players he knew from playing against them in Conference premier or South.Leadbitter,Taylor,Higgins,Turley,Gosling to name just a few,no sign that he had gone out to watch any players he didnt know or those who have been suggested to him by people like Wes,,Mark Macburney or myself. These suggestions are ignored and not evenacknowledged
