Yay, the football's back! While the results have been okay, our last few league performances have not been inspiring. We'll need an exceptional performance to bring anything back from Pride Park. With a number of our players back in contention and the Rams missing their striker to injury (Connor Washington), I think we can at least snatch a draw. The bookies think otherwise and have Derby as strong favourites. In old money, those odds are: Derby to win 3/5 Draw 16/5 Rovers to win 9/2 I won't be betting but those odds for a draw look good. I'm going 1-1 UTG!

upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/4a/Derby_County_crest.svg/190px-Derby_County_crest.svg.png V upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/47/Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg/200px-Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg.pngWe have played Derby County only 29 times W9, D7, L13, Biggest win 5-2, Loss 4-1 & all draws were 0-0 or 1-1. Derby County were founded in 1884, are known as the Rams and play at Pride Park which has a capacity of 33,500. In 1967, Brian Clough and Peter Taylor took over and led Derby to its greatest glory. Starting at 18th in the Second Division in 1968, Clough and Taylor acquired Alan Hinton, Roy McFarland, and John O'Hare, then clinched the influential signing of Dave Mackay to lead the club to 1st place in 1969, and promotion to the First Division. Derby went on to finish 4th in 1970, were banned from competing in Europe due to financial irregularities in 1971, and won their first ever Football League Championship in 1972. Though Derby did not retain their title the following season, they did reach the semi-finals of the European Cup, where they lost to Juventus. Clough's frequent outspoken comments against football's establishment eventually led to him falling out with the board of directors at the club, and Clough and Taylor left in October 1973. Such was their impact on the club that, 37 years later, a 9 ft (2.75 metres) bronze statue of the pair was erected outside Pride Park in commemoration of their legacy. Derby's celebrity supporters include actors George Clooney and Robert Lindsay, former Labour MP Dennis Skinner, Irish singer Niall Horan & Blur guitarist Graham Coxon. Derby's primary rival clubs are Nottingham Forest, Leicester City and Leeds United. Derby's most notable ex-managers were Harry Newbould, Jimmy Methven, George Jobey, Stuart McMillan, Brian Clough, Arthur Cox, Jim Smith and Nigel Clough... Record appearance holder is Kevin Hector with 589 and record goalscorer is Steve Bloomer with 332..(Kevin Hector is 2nd with 201) Derby are currently in 7th place and BRFC are in 10th.. I'm going for a result that has never happened in the 29 games, a 2-2 draw.

Andy Mangan on whether he's noticed any changes to his personal approach since becoming caretaker manager..By Daniel Hargravesi2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article8930197.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200/0_3514034.jpg"I've been lucky enough to be exposed to these conversations before. The only difficult thing now is when they're coming to you, at times I would say what the previous manager would say. Now I'm saying what I'm saying. "There has been a change but we have a fantastic set of lads here. I respect them and they respect me so I think they understand that I want the best for them. Unfortunately I can only pick 11 of them and seven subs and we've got a squad of around 26 when everyone's fit. "They understand that but what I will say is that they have to be training at their maximum to be able to get back into the side if they find themselves out of it."

Rovers controlling the midfield and looking good.
Won't be surprised to see Marquis on for Collins at some stage, Collins still searching for his mojo this season.
More of the same 2nd half please.
I was going to mention what a poor game the ref is having but that seems to be a given these days

So far so good. A very even contest, Rovers playing well and unlucky not to be in front.

FFS... 0-1 og Hunt.
It all started from Collins faffing around up front and giving the ball away.
Not what we deserve from this game.

Yet again our own throw-ins become a liability for us. We manage to give possession away at almost every one.
It can't be that difficult can it?
