BRSC fans director Steve Lamble will be available on Saturday 26th before the Wycombe game to answer any questions that you might have regarding the Supporters Club or his role as a Director of the Football Club. It will also be an opportunity for you to pass any comments onto the Management of the Football Club.you may have for him. Whilst we will be as open as we can be, You will obviously appreciate that there are some areas on which we will be unable to comment and we hope that you will understand if this is the case with your specific questions.
Steve will be in the Thatchers Bar overlooking the pitch between 1pm and 2pm. Keith Brookman BrSc

Fair play to making himself accessible to supporters. Sounds like an hour of skirting around difficult questions... apologies, cynicism is my default factory setting.

Not sure why Steve needs to do this because since March, when Rovers became champions of the Fan Engagement Index, all the relevant information including up to date board meeting minutes is on the Fan Engagement section of the club website. I think ?
"Under Tom Gorringe (now CEO), they responded positively to their early poor ranking on the Fan Engagement Index by not just doing more, and doing things better, but by telling people what they were doing.
This is a key to good Fan Engagement: not just doing it, but making sure people know it’s being done. It certainly scores you higher on the Fan Engagement Index!
One of the keys to this has been their website – as it is for all clubs. Except as all clubs will know, there’s a lot of competition for eyeballs, and so space is at a premium. All too often, clubs prioritise marketing and selling over relationship building (Fan Engagement), and so it is too often the Cinderella service.
It doesn’t have to be that way. If you want to try to make Fan Engagement a visible priority, to demonstrate to fans that you’re doing the right things, why not do what Bristol Rovers do and create a Fan Engagement section?
The club puts all of the relevant info about engagement, including relationships with the (independent) Bristol Rovers Supporters Club (who also hold places on the board of directors of the club), forums – even club board meeting minutes (one of the few non fan-owned clubs that publicise this information).
It’s a fairly basic thing to do, and immediately makes our job easier every year, as well as more importantly, providing a place for fans to find out what’s going on, and how they can get involved."

On the subject of toilets, ground access and cashless, just to name but a few subjects, all these are well known to club and CEO for ages now.
Awareness is out there. And has been for years.
If the club hasn't addressed them already, I honestly don't know what anyone can do let alone a well meaning but kept at a distance guy?

I'd not heard of the Fan Engagement process prior to your post Swiss so I took a look. It's not as prominent on the website as it should be but it is there and it's quite good. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/fans/fan-engagement/

Beat me to it!
Yes, I've not been engaged with the Fan Engagement page before now.
Good it was set up, but doesn't look like anyone has been engaged with updating it recently.
Jerk Chicken - are they still with us? Inflatable Goal - is that a regular thing? Didn't know about the Away Fan Bar.

It's not as prominent on the website as it should be but it is there and it's quite good. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/fans/fan-engagement/It's a good idea Jeff but I think it was done primarily to win a badge which we could show off rather than anything else. If the will was genuinely there to keep fans engaged then the execution of something like this would be far better than it is and that applies to many aspects of the club. The sharing of board minutes gained great approval from the assessors but is doing this three times in nearly two years really taking it seriously ? Surely there must be someone on the staff at the club with the enthusiasm to take this idea by the scruff of the neck and run with it. There will always be Gasheads who say "I'm only interested in the football" or "it's none of our business" but if you look at the number of successful companies which make engagement with stakeholders a priority you can see that this is recognised as part of a winning business strategy.

And cashless, ground access etc? On all subjects, it should not have been allowed to get this far for it to become a topic of conversation, let alone a complaint? !

Good to meet Andy Warhol..sorry Steve Lambie in the Thatchers Bar prior to kick off. He had to compete with Brentford v Spurs on the screens but answered questions politely and revealed many things of interest
He hopes to repeat it again next month
Ps I did ask him if he or however designed the front cover of the Pirate matchday cover was on drugs when the final design was approved and sincerely hoped the same designer had no input into our new South Stand He did smile.

Anything of note or interest become of this? Steve gave Harry one of his pop art creations showing a dozen cans of Thatchers Gold set against a background of fifty shades of green. Harry is taking it to East Bristol Auctions in Hanham and has kindly agreed to donate all sale proceeds to the Nationwide Finance Ltd appeal.

You not heard of a cost of living crisis ? Foodbanks and illegal migrants living in luxury on quality barges in Dorset. I'm going to fund something very close to my heart if the Banks given to me by Robin himself (one of his early works) when he lived with his parents in Coombe Dingle. It's quality artwork showing a strangled Robin. The Warhol artwork was assessed by the Hanham auctioneers as a fake & withdrawn from their sale. Proceeds from my Banksy will go to sponsorship for life on the New South Stand ie The Geoff Bradford stand.
