What a strange up and down season, now safe in mid table, which am sure most of us would've taken at the start
However, there were a couple of moments where it all could have turned sublime. Firstly, If we had stuck to the original plan to go for the final at Wembley in the Pappa Johnson Trophy with dirty bast## fries. There was undoubtedly, some momentum building , and we could be looking pretty smug like Plymouth who did go for it.
Secondly, We we're on a great run and Sky man Jeff Sterling, was on board was raving about the Gas, and play offs looking a rear possibility - then it all went Belly Up and promotion went out the window and relegation loomed. Thankfully common sense prevailed and our Belly Good Keeper back between the sticks
Nevertheless, theres a lot of positives to take from this season we are playing some excellent football and finishing the season in good form
Mention goes out to Wael without his financial support over, in particular over the COVID period we could now down scrapping it out with Oval to avoid dropping into Nat South, or worst than that we could have gone out of business.
Also thumbs up to Wael for his unwavering support to JB when the masses were calling for his head’
It’s a little early to say, but I will - iam really looking forward to next season as we now know that we can mix it with the big boys!

No goal from open play for 621 minutes at The Mem (not to including added time). The build up play must be stunning.

I think this could start a nationwide trend.
Criticising the entertainment value of events you don't attend. Perhaps someone could develop an App for it.

I think there are a lot of positives. Taking points off of all the top seven sides, who are operating with considerably larger budgets and larger squads than us, and who the club have no right to be competing against. Playing a Derby side with Hourihane and McGoldrick, still solid championship players, off the park yesterday was certainly impressive. Unlike Derby and other 'big' clubs we don't the luxury of trying to spend our way to the PL before going to the football authorities with a begging bowl before being brought out and signing free transfer championship-level players on huge salaries. Credit to the team for turning it around after the post-New Year dip in form and catastrophic defeats against the likes of Morecambe and Accrington. Finishing strongly in 10th position would be a concrete achievement and provide something to build on. Stick rather than twist for next season. Priorities are cover for the injury-prone Rossiter and a new central midfielder to replace Coutts. Sinclair as cover and loft as cover for Marquis? Or perhaps Collins as an out-and-out striker and Sinclair in a free role? Belshaw Hoole Connelly Gibson Gordon Rossiter New Mid Evans Finley Collins/Sinclair
Loft/Marquis

3 goals from open play in ten home games this year. Horfield for Hentertainment! In the interests of fairness, you should mention the first half of the season, when the team were among the leading scorers in the division. Post-New Year, there was a clear need to tighten up as the team suffered successive catastrophic defeats to the likes of Morecambe, Accrington and MK Dons. This, combined with Collins's form inevitably dropping off, resulted in fewer goals.

3 goals from open play in ten home games this year. Horfield for Hentertainment! I don't think you could doubt the entertainment provided by the team yesterday. Absolutely, entertainment in Bucket loads at least four or five gilt chances fell to our very capable strikers, which on another day could have gone in. If you are creating the chances then it’s only a matter of time when the goals start flowing. Incidentally the two home nil nil draws against Barnsley and Ipswich were both pleasing on the eye, entertaining and absorbing as was the one nil victory over Charlton. It makes such a difference when teams come to play football, and I remember one incident in particular in the Charlton game, with just minutes left Rovers mounted an attack and you could see from the body language our man considered taking it over to the corner to waste time. However, there was no chance of that and he just carried on pushing for the second goal. UTG

Chewy's right though. No goals = no entertainment. At all. In no way. Cannot be. Impossible. Give us basketball any day. Every day.

Funny old season for football as a whole. At one point it looked like we were already on the beach like the middle bunch occupying 10th to 15th place in League 2. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before with two wins between them in six games.

Did we score from open play at The Mem again? I'd fallen asleep from tedium last night by then.

Yep! - Yet another boring game! 2 wins in 11 home games this year! Clearly not enjoying it then. Last nights game was very entertaining and decent quality. We played some good football first half without creating, a couple of silly mistakes and we chase. However second half, a real good go and exciting. Top team just tried everything to take the sting out of it through 'professionalism' as did Derby, so these top teams are trying to nullify. Our lads were excellent, young guns mistakes have to be marginally accepted. I would have taken a comfortable position with a handful of games to go at the beginning following promotion. Next year we can push forward and ive renewed my ST and already looking forward to it.

I wonder what B***** will take out of this season.
The GK loan signing was bizarre at best. What was that about?
Why did our form nose dive over Christmas?
Are loans better than Perms?
