Talking to a lot of people over the last few months about this and everyone that I have spoken to seems to think that although prices have gone up they are all doing OK.
People who went to Cheltenham races said that they had spent £200 to £300 for a day out, travel agent was telling my friend that they havent done so well for years all expensive holidays sold out. Queues at Dover as tens of thousands got away last weekend for extended Easter break and motorways this weekend expected to be very busy.
Undoubtedly some people are skint but those people would be skint even if the economy was booming, one bloke who I occasionally speak to is always broke, sometimes he cant afford petrol to go to work ! of course he always finds money for the essentials like fags, booze and blow.
This seems to be another media 'disaster' story and of course snivelling left wingers revel in it so that they can blame the 'rich' (anybody who has more than them) I do feel sorry for anyone who is genuinely struggling but at least there is plenty of work out there these days.

Driving around Bristol its quite amazing to see how many takeaway food shops there are now, some roads if you took out the takeaways,'bargain booze' type shops and charity shops there would be nothing left. Deliveroo riders are everywhere on the roads,in the morning I see them delivering food to students, but no doubt to other people too. Obviously 'the cost of living crisis' that the BBC mentions regularly is not stopping a large amount of people from buying takeaways and having them delivered, the amount of (grubby looking) takeaway shops seems to increase weekly.

Listening to the radio this morning and Radio4 mentioned 'the cost of living crisis' yet again, made me laugh when less than 5 minutes later their reporter in Sydney was with people who had flown to Australia to watch the football match today....crisis,what crisis ?

Well you responded to it.... . True, but what did you think of the statement from Trymer? For some people [not LIS] you have to type slowly... Some people are rich, some people are poor. Some people have disposable income some don't. The ones with disposable income get to go to Australia, those who don't get to starve under this Government. House of Commons Library April 2023 - How will the rising cost of living affect poverty? Income is set to fall for everyone: In March 2023, the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) forecasted i that real household disposable income per person (a measure of living standards) will fall by 5.7% during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 financial years. The OBR is an independent fiscal watchdog that analyses public finances and fiscal policy. Absolute low income is likely to rise in the short run. The Resolution Foundation, an independent think tank, forecasted in January 2023 that absolute low income will increase from 17.2% in 2021/22 to 18.3% in 2023/24. This means an additional 800,000 people in absolute low income. This is because real incomes are set to fall, and income is adjusted for inflation when measuring absolute low income. Since relative low income compares low-income households to median income, the fact that income is set to fall for everyone means that relative low income is likely to fall between 2022/23 and 2023/24. However, the Resolution Foundation expects relative child poverty to return to its upward trend at the end of the cost of living crisis and reach its highest levels since 1998/88 in 2027/28.I guess some people don't want to believe that people are in poverty and the number is rising. Doesn't suit their own agenda in life.

Listening to Radio 4 today, migrants in dinghys are dangling babies overboard to stop French authorities stopping them from crossing the channel. These people dont want to stay in Europe, they cross 5 or 6 European countries to get to French or Belgian coast to get here... Someone should tell them that their wasting the thousands of pounds they pay trafficers to bring them here because we are so poor and people are starving.....
Meanwhile in the real World the airports here are full to capacity with people going on holiday, people are paying hundreds of pounds to take their children to Legoland,Chessington, etc etc etc .....the vast majority 'have never had it so good'.

Not sure what migration has to do with the cost of living issues? Noted that Trymer doesn't respond to the points Cheshire raises, another example of trying to shout the loudest to avoid confronting the truth?
It appears so. Typical of the I'll informed

Some people are rich, some have disposable income, some are on the breadline and have to use foodbanks and rely on charity. It's not that difficult to understand. It's almost as if some people deliberately want to wipe the poor from the record as it suits their far right agenda and the terrible record of this government on poverty. What makes people so blind, I don't know. Perhaps not giving a jot about others and having no humanity perhaps, I really don't get it.

The shoes were £100 Vivienne Westwood ballerina type shoes that the woman her daughter from benefit money, dont the school realise that unemployed people cant afford shoes more expensive than these ? The poor mother is so incensed that she has made a video on tik tok....warning strong language that may upset some people is used.

That one example proves that they are all scroungers getting wealthy on the benefits you pay for. None are below the poverty line at all and are pretending to be impoverished and foodbanks are totally unnecessary. Proving ToryBoyPierce of the Daily Hate Mail to be correct. 'Daily Mail columnist Andrew Pierce today blasts an 'Army of Shirkers' claiming sickness benefits which British taxpayers are footing the bill for. Mr Pierce said: 'You all know who these shirkers are, you know the families, you know where they live. You've seen then drinking their cans of beer late in the morning, fag hanging out of their mouths, they've normally got Sky Sports blaring. 'How do they pay for that? I'll tell you, through your benefits.'If only the Mail backed Oswald Mosley had been successful! We need to get the blackshirts back and get the National Front in charge, they would get rid of these bloody woke scroungers.....

What makes me laugh is the complete inability for Trymer to post up a link so we can verify his "story".
