Did well againt a good team who try to play football. A good night. They did look like a decent side who try to play football, but their final ball was nearly always lacking, and they`re crying out for a decent centre forward. From the cheer at the end of the game, you`d have thought we`d won. Got to admit, having witnessed nearly all the games during our losing run, I was very happy with a point. And the performance. Hopefully carry it on, into the game on Sat.

Just got back..
I guess I got what I wanted.
For years now, all I have advocated in small volumes is at least to compete in 3rd tier of profe football, maybe more.
We saw that v Ipswich.
A disciplined, structural hard working approach to defending, in essence going back to basics. Personally, I like watching defensive lines and play. If we master that, a goal will come out of nowhere and we're up and running - we almost sneaked one or two last night - so did they.
And this is with 5 or 6 first team regulars, anyone might include in starting line up! Well done coaching staff for instructing that..
Gibbons .. what's happened? My m o m...the lad was everywhere! He seems to have found his defensive composure and energy to run at opponents back line. Definitely stepped up.
Grant Ward..... awesome in mid. Reminded me of Josh Grant in early days where does the hard things right and unnoticed.
Aaza proves his prowess at lone rover and thus adds another another string to his bow....led the line admirably and almost scored/assisted.
A good performance and hopefully a turn in the corner of how to grind out a point or points against wiley technically better opposition. We matched them on the chess board, stalemate was the fair result and we'll done us for hard work competing.....who, in any fair mind, could ask for more?

Decent point and the clean sheet will be good for confidence. Letโs hope we build on it. Weโll see how good Balcombe is now as I suspect that will be last we see of Belshaw if what Bas has posted is correct. Cant help but think that B***** has made an issue where he did not need to though and this might not be good for us in the long term. There is probably a way back to the bench for James ( and the possibility of a game) , if he apologieses and bucks up. Joe has shown exactly why he's a good manager by giving James a whole half a 3rd tier season to play,he did'nt impress enough,JB quite rightly ignored the popularity of James and has done the fc a favour by signing a better GK in Ellery. The Manager is to be respected and congratulated. I'm very happy we have a Boss that takes tough decisions. Hear Hear!

One aspect of the game that added to enjoyment was that Ipswich were not trying to con the ref. Was any of this due to the fact that the ref was not giving much or are the genuine?
The ref also played his part, another would have given far more free kicks and cards. He may not have got everything right but seemed consistent.

[qand has done the fc a favour by signing a better GK in Ellery. . Based on what? 4 games? ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ one of which he was responsble for at least one of the goals and should have done better on at least a couple of the others. I also donโt recall hearing tales of how he tore up trees in the 14 or so games he played for Crawley either - the sum total of his professional career. Perhaps you watched these games to have come to such a quick conclusion? He may eventually prove to be a better keeper than Belly in the long run but right now the evidence says he is not. Bit much to heap on his young shoulders

Port Vale fans rated him highly so he clearly has ability albeit only shown t in patches for us

Iโd be happy with a point, hope for all 3 but predict a grim 3-0 defeat. Bas is high on the happy drugs if he thinks Balcombe is a better keeper than Belly. He might be one day but not today based on what I have seen of him so far James was dropped from the squad for tonight's game after reacting poorly to not being selected to start the game. Ellery had another decent game. By the way Smeggy (and others ),you can pick up a white stick for about a fiver on ebay. Suggest you buy one then and take it to the next game with your guide dog. Should go nicely with your blind faith baseball cap

Bit much to heap on his young shoulders I've yet to see evidence that he will be better than Belshaw at the moment. There was a number of times last night he was hesitant. He made a good save and got got down quick for a tall keeper. I like the fact that he can kick long and in most cases accurately. But better.... the jury is still out in my mind.

Luckily for Rovers the massively 'important' B***** hating few and the James Belshaw groupies don't select the team,or own the fc.

Based entirely on what iโve seen so far. You on the other hand base everything on your complete hero worship of B*****. Genuinely do hope he is better but will need games and experience and will make mistakes along the way. Heโs also not our GK

Ronaldo walked out during the game at Old Trafford when he was on the Bench. He then had the temerity to criticise their manager.Whatever the rights and wrongs of these situations ,the Manager has to rule and if players are allowed to dictate then it totally undermines the club.Like Belly and he has been great-but not away at Exeter-.Not easy when you expect to be playing but no player has an automatic right to be picked.Remember Gazza being dropped by Glen Hoddle from the World Cup squad.Right kerfuffle that caused.
