I suppose this thread shows that some of our players have been pretty decent managers so we’ve got a fair few to choose from. Pulis, Gould, Francis and Olly are the pick. Although I would love to have seen what David Williams could have achieved if he’d stayed as a manager. Gerry probably gets it for position in league but if pushed I’d still go for Olly. The football his teams played in that 99/00 season and what he did at Blackpool and other places before it all went wrong showed he did it for a fairly lengthy period. And I loved his press conferences, guaranteed to make you laugh. A flawed individual and manager at times but very honest and his positivity knew no bounds, most if the time. UTG! None of us is perfect and Olly probably had a lifesaving moment when he let the TV film his stress levels and then he did something about it. I do wonder though, if you take that fight out of any man then are they the same, after ? I have noticed it with many sports and it seems that if you take that aggressive and hard wired blood and guts approach away then many lose the very thing that made them a success

John Rudge at Port Vale. Terry Cooper at city.
I wonder if in the future Tony Craig might become a manager.

Take the nasty side away from Fergie and he’s just another PL manager. Take the ability to wind up other managers away from Mourinho ditto. I’m sure there are others. UTG!
