www.football365.com/news/who-ate-pies-football-food-bento-box-deep-fried-whitebait-john-nicholson“Bristol Rovers, a club that has revamped and invested in its catering facilities sell this tasty-looking plate…” “So many clubs all over the world manage to sell proper food that is quick to make from scratch and easy to eat while you’re watching the game. Lower-league clubs like Bristol Rovers, Forest Green Rovers and many more, are showing the way, because they know there is a good profit to be made in selling good food and have taken a progressive attitude to providing it. It just makes good business sense.”

Not actually in the ground though but in the fan zone. TBH it doesn’t look that tasty, not for me

What, pray tell, is 'progressive' about a club that describes domestic violence as a 'victimless crime', and which is bankrolled by a rich kid graduate of our private school system? Anything that is 'progressive' about our club is largely something of a geographical accident, namely that we are fortunate to be located in a diverse, cosmopolitan part of the city. Would anyone seriously disagree that FGR are actually the 'progressive' model we should be seeking to emulate, both in terms of food production and more generally?

The crepes on sale in the Fanzone were delicious, and a very pleasant change from the usual football food menu, as for FGR, I know that our fans did not rate the food available at the ground. The word "progressive" was used with regard to the food which is available on site at The Mem on a matchday, why try to turn this into another thread to bash the club, owner and manager? Pathetic post in my opinion.

Abit of good publicity for Rovers. Lots of good small steps being made by Tom and his team.Good work!👍👏👏👏
We could rebrand Battenburg cake and call it eg Line Persons Delight.
Also,I feel English food and society has suffered since the demise of the Prawn Cocktail starter.
Just chucking ideas in.

Anything other than fatty food with the nutritional value of a pencil, has to be an improvement.
If there was a shack equivalent of something like Wagamama and also a falafel stall, that would be mint.

That was , by far, the best tasting and widest range of food i have ever know at football and very well priced too. The cottage pie was delicious and you could see it was home cooked.

When you say ''our club'' do you include yourself in the expression? Not everyone may think you are in ''our club'', from your postings..

Food at Kidderminster was good last time I went, but like Father Jack, not in the Conference season (for the same reason).
How anyone other than the most bitter can turn this positive news into a dig at the club is beyond me.
The various outlets all pay a valuable source of income to the Club. This sort of thing was conspicuous in its absence when the stadium manager was still here. Now, every game seems to bring some innovation or other, which is great.

Not a single bit of your word salad is in anyway relatable to the thread. I’ve done the Fanzone food a couple of times, usually at night matches (Saturday is for Thatchers and a cheese and pickle roll in the Civil Service Club). The crepes were excellent, nice to have a decent coffee. The jerk chicken looks amazing, I’ll give that a go next evening home game, which is currently 2023.

Having now eaten the Aussie meat pie for 8 years (a pastry filed with gravy and the occasional rainbow-drop sized morsel of chewy beef cartilage) gasheads are so lucky to have proper Cornish pasties all year round.
I thought the fanzone was a great addition to the ground given the limitation of space.
I would love there to be a scotch egg option made available next time. Maybe even bricks of bread pudding and a selection of biltong. Just think of the gas.

Then you missed out in my opinion as that one season had me loving football again and i did more away games than i had in years. Proper football and good people, mostly. Maybe I’m in a minority but i found it brought me back to the reason why i went to games
