So how far off playing Chelsea and Manchester United in the Super league? Well going into Tier 4, and with the Super League being Tier 1, it would be 3 more promotions away. Thanks for this...We bought 2 tickets and will be there, we watched the Gas Girls way back over 20 years ago with Steff Curtis and the mostly Welsh girls. They played Arsenal and Fulham at the mem when they were the 2 big teams of the day, plus great hard fought games v city. |

Thanks for this...We bought 2 tickets and will be there, we watched the Gas Girls way back over 20 years ago with Steff Curtis and the mostly Welsh girls. They played Arsenal and Fulham at the mem when they were the 2 big teams of the day, plus great hard fought games v city. Yes, I went to those 2 games (both FA Cup Semi-Finals, if I remember rightly), and although a couple of decades back I was impressed with the level of skill on show. Around 3,000 in attendance to those games, which was mighty impressive back then. |

Sherborne Town’s 3-3 draw with Bishop’s Lydeard finally dashed Sherborne’s slim hopes of catching Rovers, who will be crowned champions when they face Liskeard Athletic at the Mem on March 24th. Rovers have 37 points after 14 games, with only two matches of the season remaining. They have won 12, drawn one and only lost once, away at Forest Green Rovers back in September. “A season amassed into one picture,” said Gas Girls manager Nathan Hallett-Young as Rovers shared a photo of their full squad and backroom staff. “This wouldn’t have been possible without a highly passionate & driven group of players, with an unbelievable support network behind them to push them to new heights! Buzzing to get to the Mem & celebrate.” Rovers CEO Tom Gorringe tweeted: “Congratulations to everyone involved! A great achievement another big step forward on the journey! The Gas Girls have secured promotion to the National LeagueBristol Rovers Women FC, better known as the Gas Girls, have secured promotion to the National League after clinching the league title on Sunday afternoon ahead of playing at the Mem on March 24th. The Gas Girls needed one more point to seal promotion after beating second-place Sherborne Town 2-1 earlier this month but managed to confirm their status as South West Regional Womens Football League on Sunday without kicking a ball as Sherborne Town dropped points by drawing 3-3 with Bishops Lydeard. That means that Rovers Women's final home game of the season against Liskeard Athletic which is set to be played at the Mem will certainly be a celebration with promotion already secured and the league title can be lifted at Bristol Rovers' home ground. Rovers Women currently have 37 points with two league games remaining at home to Liskeard and a final day trip to AFC St Austell on April 21st with a rearranged cup tie at Liskeard in between on April 7th.
