Board Meeting Update
by David Thomas | May 27, 2022 | News
On Thursday 26th May our representatives on the Football Club Board of Directors, Helen Wigmore and Stephen Lamble, attended their second board meeting.
It was chaired by Tom Gorringe and also attended by Wael, Karim and Chris Gibson, the majority of the business discussed remains confidential, but consideration was given to reports by each Head of Department on last season and the plans for the coming season in League One.
Anyone who has visited the Mem since the end of the season will have noticed that there is a great deal of work being carried out around the stadium in order to improve the fans/matchday experience and we look forward to seeing the results once work is completed and all of the other plans that were discussed.
As part of our on-going partnership, the Supporters Club hope to assist with the funding of a project that will not only benefit our members, but the fanbase as a whole. More information on this, will be available in due course.
Our Directors were able to ask questions and provide feedback on behalf of the supporters on all club matters as well as providing an update on the Supporters Club and the plans for the future.
We’d like to thank all members of staff for their hard work and input in today’s meeting and look forward to continuing to work together for the betterment of the club.

All good stuff but is it me but if they discussed the funding of a “....project that will benefit..... more information in due course”, can’t they tell us more? What, when etc. (Unless we're working on signing Elliot Anderson of course. Or.... the promised land of a new st.......) Seriously, it sounds good even if it is a bit of a tease at the moment. 😉 UTG!

New South Stand to replace the awful tented monstrosity now well over twenty years old hopefully. Will settle for a temporary structure which could be sold on as any 'NEW BUILD' will take several years anyway but the South Tent is a total embarrassment.

New South Stand to replace the awful tented monstrosity now well over twenty years old hopefully. That would imply a permanent structure. Anyone have any idea what that could cost? Given the potential return with the site limitations - I'd be surprised if it happened. Surely no significant physical infrastructure at the Memorial Stadium whilst Rovers are so close to finalising a move to a new stadium? All that hard work behind the scenes is surely just about to bear fruit.

Things were discussed that we cannot talk about- the end Sounds like a meeting with Putin attendees sit end of table snd only listen That did give me a giggle HB, truth is we now do not have an independent SC now and all roads lead to Rome fella. I don’t know if the owner and the rest are part of the SC but my own view is that it always should be independent.

Just had his own agenda, which backfired spectacularly. Feel David Thomas and his more softly softly approach will have much more success in holding the club accountable in the long term.

Definitely not, don’t know him, never did but think any SC should be truly independent and there to support the club if things go belly up and let’s face it, richer than us have done so. Football is not something you make money at. It must be horrendous unless you have an owner like Man Citeh EDIT I know David and Angela and you are right in that he is not someone to get pushed around or have the wool pulled over his eyes. I still feel really bad for the both in that Herr Higgs had promised them both 5 year ST’s in the new UWE stadium. I cannot imagine how anyone can give so much time, to what they did. People like him are truly the lifeblood of the club

I'm happy to see the SC rep have very much an 'assistant cook' role at Rovers.
