the move won't deprive the squad of pace, or pressing

Good luck to him.
His finishing is superb, his shot to goal ratio this season must be sensational.
What I don't understand is how a 34 yr old pro athlete can be so slow. I'm 52 and I'd back myself to beat him over any distance. I realise he's never had pace but hes taken it too another level.

He lumbered all over the place but get the ball to him in the penalty area and you were guaranteed a goal.

What an utter waste of money. Some you win. Some you lose. 'Law of the seed' kind of thing Oldie.

We knew what we were getting, and he scored what may prove to be a few vital goals at the end of the season.
Best of luck to him.

Might give Sion Spence more of a chance of making the bench, a ratio of 3 goals from 7 shots in 10 games.

What an utter waste of money. I don't know about that. The guy was brought in by us to score goals ( which he did ) and would have continued to have done if given the chances in front of goal. His goal scoring rate vs minutes played here must be very high, this can't be viewed as a waste of money. Now don't get me wrong, his style of a footballer is not that which fits our system, but to simply say he was a waste of money is incorrect and stupid as the man did his job while here, and quite well given minutes played.

Maybe he's going for that Goodwillie bloke Raith just released. Right up his street that.

Agree absolutely. Thought Pitman put more effort into the three minutes he was on the pitch against Hartlepool, than Loft did in the previous 88. I wish him well.

Pitman always seemed a bit too intelligent to fit into Trooper Joey's team of former school 5-a-side mates

I wonder if he will be leaner when he returns from his loan spell ? ! Good header though at The Bantams, nicked us a point.

Good luck to him, a pretty good ratio of goals, matches and shots. But he was signed, istr, near the start of the season when we hadn’t signed any strikers despite being told it was the priority area to strengthen. I think JB found it harder than he thought to get what he wanted. And since the start our team has developed in a different way and into a system that he didn’t really fit into. He can’t press now as he used to be able to for any length of time. I’ve never worried about the extra weight he carried, he always did look less fit than other players even as a teenager at AFCB. As for pace he used to have a good acceleration over 10 yards if given half a yard and his brain usually saw opportunities before defenders saw them and he scored lots from through balls and over the top passes. But his game never relied on pace, but put the ball in the box and he will score, as he has shown this season. Thanks Brett.
UTG!

Eddie Howe seems happy enough to entrust JB with being involved in the development of this young man, but, hey, what does Eddie Howe know about the world of professional football?
