Ellis is 28 on the 29th January, he should be in the prime of his footballing life as a centre-forward.
He has played in 322 games, scoring 76 goals, he should be doing a bit better than that.
We got £750,000 for him, which i thought was a good sum and would go on players.
Meanwhile, Pompey remain keen to remove Harrison from their wage bill as they attempt to create space in their budget to recruit improved striking options.
The former Ipswich man’s time at Fratton Park has been hampered significantly by injury and he has started just one league game this season.
On Harrison, I understand that Fleetwood Town, Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury Town have interest in the Welshman.
Again, finances and the packages offered either permanently or on loan would be the key in this one and whether or not he will move on.

I feel like we, and DC, watched him grow up. From a physical player into a grafter with a smile on his face
Come back Ellis!

I feel like we, and DC, watched him grow up. From a physical player into a grafter with a smile on his face Come back Ellis! I remember him walking up the thatchers end after the Mansfield game with a young Ollie Clarke in 2014 and getting s**t for his efforts that year. Rightfully so as at times he was just lazy. The following year he scored around 20 goals and for the following few years he was great for our club. I would be very happy for his return, even tho I doubt he would offer much in terms of goals to us now even in L2.He would also want a decent wage.

It has been said he was a very popular presence in the dressing room and I’d love him back but some have some kind of irrational hatred for him and all over his being in chasers and having a kebab. I’m guessing he would not come back unless it was about being close to family. I always thought he was given a bad time with us but who knows what would have been, without his Wembley goal Some also have an antipathy towards Ellis for daring to have friends who play/played for the other lot. Others and let's not kid ourselves, don't like him because of his skin colour. Hope he does come back and hope he makes the meatheads keep schtum. Spot on and totally agree, unfortunately we still have our fair share of daft people, i would use stronger language but i will not as you know what i mean. Sadly, you don’t have to be a black man to havbe racism shown you as i found out as a younger man. Personally i found him always easy to approach, talk to and get him to sign shirts etc. As part of the FFSC he came up to see us, post match, great guy. I can’t see him coming back as it really would be a huge backward step. Learned to track back, under DC and started to put in some tremendous shifts. I think i remember seeing an article on him covering the most metres in a couple of games.

"I feel good"! League of Ireland,Drogheda United right back James Brown has been training with Rovers. He will soon be a free agent. Hmm,Blackburn Rovers are interested too and it's not clear which club Brown is training with. He gets on the good foot and falls on the bad, Blackburn can have him as he only plays to funk

You don’t have to, surely you must have heard the whispers, in the vic, amongst other places ? Sadly we do still have a few who will use anything to reinforce their hatred. The irony being that 2 i know of were quick to lift him up and i sent them the photos, i never ever got a reply. As i said, an irrational hatred.

Never ever go back. Despite his (debatable) qualities I believe going back for both parties is always fraught with danger. Much different scenario but MU and Ronaldo springs to mind. Agree as he would come back to a club that did not even resemble the one we had and i do think it would be a step backwards but also i think someone like Cotterill could fire him up

Seems that Shrewsbury is off the table for Ellis, they've signed a striker on loan from the 82'ers.
I would love him to come back, apart from the fact that it usually never works out well.
He recorded a lovely video for me when I was in hospital following a heart attack.

He pulls on his shirt in promo to reveal a very non-Pitman physique.

Looks a decent CF on YT playing for Scunthorpe United.
Could be a very good signing.
Good news.

Bristol Rovers have signed striker Ryan Loft from fellow League Two side Scunthorpe United for an undisclosed fee, signing a two-and-a-half year deal with the club. The 24-year-old came through Tottenham Hotspur's academy before joining Leicester in 2018, and spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Carlisle. Loft has scored 25 goals in 113 career appearances for Stevenage, Exeter, Carlisle & Scunthorpe. (Tottenham & Leicester U23's). "I'm buzzing. I can't wait to get started and show the Rovers fans what I can do," he told the Rovers website. Born in Gravesend, 6 ft 3 in Loft attended Northfleet Technology College, where he was a high jump champion.

Hmmm, 6ft 3in, high jump champion - I'm struggling for a nickname for Ryan Loft at the moment ...

He used to be a high jump champion, before the Loft conversion to football.

He likes to wear a vest under his football shirt in the winter, to give Loft insulation.

If we can get Nicho to make decoy runs, and pull defenders away, it should give Loft space.

Hopefully Loft is short for loads of football talent and not lack of...
