We have played Scunthorpe 40 times, W 16, D 14, L 10 - We have won 5-1, 4-0, 4-1 & 4-3, also have lost 4-0, 3-0 & 3-1, there has been a 3-3 draw too.
Scunthorpe were founded in 1899, they are known as The Iron and play their home games at Glanford Park which has a 9.088 capacity.
Manager Keith Hill played over 400 games, mostly for Plymouth and Rochdale, he managed Rochdale for 570 games, took over at scunny in November this year.
Grimsby Town are traditionally viewed as Scunthorpe's fiercest rivals, Other local rivals are Hull City, Doncaster Rovers, Lincoln City and York City.
Kevin Keegan, Ray Clemence, Jermaine Beckford, Billy Sharp, Neil Warnock, Brian Laws and even Ian Botham have all played at Glanford Park.
Highest transfer fee received was for Billy Sharp – £2.5 million to Sheffield United.
Scunthorpe are currently bottom, Keith Hill has steadied the ship with 5 draws & 2 defeats, they will be very hard to beat.

Keith Hill: now there's a pure gent, great lower league manager and all round decent chap. It would have been great to have had him as our manager.
It would be magnificent if Keith keeps Scunny up, but hopefully tomorrow won't be the win they need. With our goals coming from all over and Evans being an absolute menace, we should have enough for a narrow win.
UTG and good luck Keith Hill

So we'll have to spend the weekend discussing court cases, the manager, and potential changes at the club. Heigh ho!
PS. I'm pretty sure that Scunny isn't all that sunny, whatever they say. Never been tho

I have a feeling that will be the last game that will be postponed rather than no crowd. This is horrible, absolutely horrible. We then get told that this could go on for 5 years.

That's not my prediction. Each variant that make it (most die out) will be a little more transmissible, a little more vaccine resistant, and a little less dangerous. Viruses don't 'want' to kill, they thrive by the host living on to produce and to share more viruses. The reason we don't all have swine flu is that this is (H1N1?) one of the several flu strains on our annual immunisations, and SARS-CoV-2 strains may be added to these. The first SARS is no longer a problem. So carry on, get as many vaccines as you can, and take extra care when prevalence increases as it is now.
No pandemics go on forever.

No pandemics go on forever. on Clarkson's Farm, the noted epidemiologist Jeremy Clarkson said that he read up about pandemics when this one first kicked off, and that they last about 4 years which sounds much last mad now than when I first heard it

Exactly my thoughts - it's against its nature for a virus to kill off its host, and effectively kill off itself. Spring 2020 I was reading about Spanish Flu (100 years on!), and the thought is that it evolved to become less deadly. That lasted 2 years, which is where we are now with Covid-19.

Viral: The search for the origin of COVID-19 is a good read if you’re interested in the technicalities and some history on previous epidemics. Interesting parallels with school closures in January 1890 during the Russian Flu pandemic that killed about a million people. The not kill the host thing is true but so are other methods like spreading by targeting the sick host’s carers

No change for me as a B***** exile. Level 7 football again - players need to have jab to keep working. One day I will be able to use my season ticket. Bloody courts.

I would have been up at 5.45am, on the 0735 BTM to Sheffield, change at Sheffield for Scunthorpe and would now be looking for a Spoons or similar with my lad and his mate to get some lunch.
Instead of that I’m sitting at home writing this.
Which would I rather be doing?!
