Is this the first meeting of Salford City and Rovers?
Hopefully our lads would of got enough rest and like the Tranmere Rovers game,fatigue could be our biggest challenge.
I hope Alfie is fit to play and having Whelan playing from the ko will be a plus imo.
City in 16th place 2 points and places behind Rovers.
Can't say I know much about Salford,uhhhhh Rory Gafney played for them,Man Utd players put money into them,I played a gig there in the 80s, in a pub called The Black Swan and on another night I had some speakers nicked out of my Mini 850.
I think we'll win.π€

Salford will become the 116th different club we have played in the football league.
I believe I have seen 107 of them missed
Aberdare, Merthyr, Everton Workington. Barrow, Bradford Park Avenue, Thames must check out the others.

Thames AFC were only in the league for 2 seasons, playing in blue & red quarters. They had the a capacity of 120,000 (making it the largest ground in England to regularly host League football). But hold the record for the lowest known attendance for a Saturday Football League match; just 469 fans paid to watch Thames play Luton Town on 6 December 1930. Must have rattled around a bit. |

Salford City were formed in 1940, they play at Moor Lane, which has a capacity of 5,106 (2,246 seated).
Manager Gary Bowyer has managed Blackburn, Blackpool, Bradford and Salford City in 327 games with a 35.5 % win rate.
At each home game the team walks out to The Pogues' cover of Dirty Old Town, the 1949 Ewan McColl song inspired by the singer's childhood in Salford.
Since their promotion to the Football League, the club do not maintain any strong rivalries. However, a survey conducted in August 2019 suggested that supporters of the club consider near neighbours Oldham Athletic and Bolton Wanderers to be the club's main rivals.
The survey also revealed that smaller rivalries with Accrington Stanley, Macclesfield Town and Crewe Alexandra also exist.
In February 2014, it was revealed by a local newspaper, the Salford Star, that as well as Gary Neville and Giggs, fellow former Manchester United players Nicky Butt, Phil Neville, and Paul Scholes, known collectively as the Class of '92, were in talks with the club regarding "major investment".
From our stadium to their stadium via the M5 & M6 it is 176 miles (just over 3 hours).

Was still midway through school when my parents moved south, and I arrived in England clutching my No Surrender scarf, and searching vainly for a shop that sold Barrs Irn Bru.
