One for the discreet interview in a hidden away hotel room. I actually hated him until i listened to an interview with him about mental health on a recent podcast, now i think he's great. I am easily influenced There’s a few managers I couldn’t stand in the past but would welcome with open arms now. It’s all about perspective

We arrived late for that 1-5 and they were already three up!

We have played Leyton Orient 114 times, Winning 47, Losing 40 and 27 Draws, we have won 6-1, 5-3 and 1-5 & Drew 3-3 x 4, we have also lost 5-0 & 5-2. We have won our last 3 games with them 1-2, 1-1 (4-2 pens) & 2-1. Darren Pratley is their 36 year old captain who has played over 570 games, mostly at Swansea, Bolton and Charlton. Andrew & Julien Lloyd Webber, Daniel Mays, Colin Matthews & Bob Mills are big fans. The 5-3 score noted above was on Boxing day 2001, when Nathan Ellington scored a hat-trick, a bumper crowd of 7,458 turned up, i remember it well. I can remember winning at Brisbane Road 5-1. I can remember standing on the terraces with a pint in hand and David Peach was their captain. (edit: deleted all the wrong crap) Also remember having a pint there at that game - half time from the bar on the side, now their main stand. Fulham also had a bar open at the back of the away end which was open during the game.

Another tough match.
It won't be easy v an upwardly mobile on decent form Orient team, we've had some memorable games against (anyone remember that 5-2 Boxing Day?).
We need some inspiration from somewhere.
I'm hoping Mr Pitman can get motivated to score against his previous gaffer, perhaps put in a shift and open his Gas goal account?
I'll plump for: Gas 2-0 win. 6543 attendance. No booing. Overcooked pasty/pie. Plenty of cider on board. Sunny spells and warm weather.
COME ON YOU BLUES! UptheGas...

Playing Leyton Orient reminds me of a weekend I had visiting England from Basel a few years ago.
On the Friday night I went with three mates - 2 Robin's of Glos fans and 1 other Gashead, for the record - to Brixton Academy to see the Sex Pistols.A great night.I think PHE also saw the Pistols at Brixton that week too.
Next day,Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road.I think it may of been around Poppy Day,as there was a Memorial Service before the game. Impeccably respected and moving.
These two events were lovely English and British reminder of where I come from.
As for today, well it is a blow having Clark and Pitman out.On their signing I said they could be good signings,if fit and hungry to play.Well I'm afraid their fitness has not been up to scratch.
We have to be organised, disciplined, get stuck in and be hard to beat. Then hope we create enough chances to score, whoever plays up front.
The Fishponds and Muller Roads will be disrupted today, what with the 'Tokyo Racket Festival' in Eastville Park.
Imagine if they always had to organise this festival for when Rovers were playing away, due to our big home attendances.
Oh we're so pretty,oh so pretty.......we're Rovers and we don't care.
Up the Gas!

Bookies odds update. Orient tightening everywhere now (typically 7-5). Draw widening slightly at 11-5. Rovers drifting at 2-1. I have not heard B*****'s pre-match talk. It does not appear to have inspired confidence in the gambling community. Most popular bets: (courtesy oddschecker) Orient Win about 2/3. Draw about 1/3. Rovers Win 0. The bookies don't 'know' anything, the odds just reflect the volume of money being placed on a particular outcome.

Up the Gas! I (along with many gasheads) have also witnessed a very poignant Poppy Day service at Leyton Orient. It is very significant for them as a large number of what was Clapton Orient joined up in the First World War going into the Footballers Battalion, there’s an Os memorial near the site of the Somme. (Also in that Battalion was the Rovers goalkeeper Peter Rooney and the manager of Basel, Percy Humphreys.)

Thanks for the Percy Humphreys information, something I never knew.

A £1 bet on Gas win & a £1 bet on a draw sees at least £3 return, for a £2 stake, as long as we don't lose. At home. What could possibly go wrong?

Rovers need to replace their form from the first half of the Oldham game to stand a chance. We need to score first. Trouble is Joeybag will play is three at the back with non wingback wingbacks and a centre midfield of strangers with a marshmallow strike force. Away win for me.

Barrow a - should get something EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS RIGHT Crawley relegation candidates h - we will win EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS RIGHT Pool a - toughie, but why not a draw EMPEROR SUPERBUS WAS wrong. But only by a little bit. Orient h - covid victims Harrogate went there and won, so a home win for us today. Walsall relegation candidates a - again we will win. Away. Swindon h - doesn’t bear thinking about losing, there will be loads of aggression to Ben for the mess we are in these days, and lots of pro B***** support in this noisy derby fixture, I predict win. (Just don’t go too far into violence lads). Carlisle a - why not at least point
6 unbeaten in 7 taking 14 from 21 points - no arguing with that being promotion form.

Three at back, one up top. Captain in first match Coots on bench. Where’s Hughes?

Dreadful manager, appalling appointment What’s odd is pundits and bookies praised us before a ball was kicked, based on our recruitment, the Hughes, Coutts, Saunders, Thomas who will give us the edge over promotion rivals. But they are not in the eleven.
