Ray is a living musical deity, along with Mick Jones and Jimmy Cliff. Anyway: "I like my football on a Saturday" Andy Partridge on Autumn Almanac www.kindakinks.net/misc/articles/almanac.html(Apologies for veering off track, I'm sure 'the football' will be returning soon). Big fan of XTC me and to hear Andy talk about Ray's writing like that, makes me more of a fan.

One of the all time greats. "Hit the road, Jack." Musical perfection. What I'd Say, Alf, is that made me laugh. 😁 Let`s hope we`re still laughing, this time tomorrow.

A tough match. Not by any means a gimme.
Welcome back Millwall Tone, a true roll sleeves up hero for us.....a milder welcome back to TN as I wish him no harm but it just didn't work out consistently enough for many. Although haven't seen his name on team sheet last few matches?
We definitely look more threatening and balanced with a starting front 2. Collins and Saunders (my personal favourite so far as his running engine and finishing looks good early doors, closely followed by Anderson)..... please start with that!
If England can revert to a back 4 when need be, why can't we? Sometimes to negate a flank threat, we should hold that in our armoury..... something to consider in near future matches.
I'm liking Belly in goal. Obviously speedy recovery to Jaaks, but for me early indications Belly is more than competent atm.
All in all, a moderately encouraging transfer window. We've shelved the correct players i m o. A blend of youth and experience. It shows potential, I am enthusiastic but we need to get key players on form so looking forward to contributions from Coutts, Pitman and Hughes.
I'll predict for a tough, hard earned 2-0 win. A goal in each half. Saunders & Anderton. 6767 attendance. Many swills on board!
Enjoy the game, Gas...

Crawley is a suburb of Perth, WA and like Crawley, West Sussex, it is also one of the most boring places on Earth. More boring that even Bowood House - a remnant of a time when the elite gifted presents to one another. A bit like the award of Covid contracts to the chums of politicians in office. How times have changed!! I dunno, I could think of more boring places, I mean, you have the university of Western Australia, Matilda Bay with the Royal Perth Yacht Club, I think I would rather spend a weekend hanging out there than maybe somewhere like Nempnett Thrubwell ! Is the pub that bad there now 🥃😏

I am interested in how big our squad is now.
We might not have perfection in the right areas but we do have numbers.
3 keepers
RB Hoole, Rodman but then we don't appear to be playing real full backs
CB Taylor, Kilgour, Hughes, Anderton, Harries.
LB Brown, Clarke
Mid Coutts, Grant, Finlay, Westbrooke, Hargreaves, Evans
Wide and Forward Nicholson Anderson Spence Thomas Rodman Saunders Collins Walker T. Clarke
Strikers Saunders Collins Pitman L. Clarke
Certainly gives us plenty of options, even if we then bring in Whelan.
Makes me feel better about the next few weeks.
Funny that the podcast this week said they were happy with no midweek games until next month. I agree with this, especially after last season where there seemed to be no respite.
Yet JB said he would prefer to get minutes for those in their mini pre season, I think he should be looking at some BCD games for them.

In honesty , I don’t think we have a unit that is working together right now but I do share the thought of it becoming better. I think we will lose 1-3

Bookies odds (generally): Gas win 4-5 Crawley win 7-2 Draw 11-4 A large percentage in the "Predictions League" are going for a comfortable Rovers win. I'm not so sure. I don't think that tighter than evens for a Rovers win represents any value - given a 17% win rate under B***** (24 games, 4 wins).

You know, I don’t even know how those numbers transfer into money on and back. As you can tell, I don’t gamble. Can you maybe give a brief explanation pleas Ian ? No worries if too busy or CBA.

Creepy manager says their injury situation is the worst he's known - 3 out with shoulder injuries, including Sam M who has had an operation.
Goal machine Tom also injured
After beating Cheltenham reserves, this looks very winnable

I don't gamble either but I believe the first number is what you get if you win, the second number is what you put down. So eg if you bet £5 on a Gas win you'll be paid out £4 (plus you get your £5 stake back). Crawley win you'd stake £2 to win £7. A draw you'd stake £4 to win £11. Which I think says the bookies have us as favourites today. Crawley second favourites. A draw the least likely.

A clean sheet would perhaps be a sign of improvement.
1 0 to Rovers,but I won't be too disappointed if it's a 0 0.

Think our long unbeaten run should continue.Stokies rate Whelan very highly and reckon he'll do well in 'Division 4'.Not in today's squad though but Tommy Nic starts for them.

Meaning I won't be joining in the probable hysteria, the likes not witnessed since our away point at Barrow. Last Saturday.
