Millwall "supporter " who featured in the Panarama programme was living there a while back, maybe still does. Mad Harry I believe.

Highest quality and most erudite thread for some time.Restored my faith in the sheer profound knowledge of Gasheads. The Crawley in question is very near Gatwick but there are a couple more in Hampshire and Oxfordshire. Matt Harrold played for them too

He was dropped because he was even more useless at hitting the ball, than the ones playing now,

Roysters Crisps T-Bone steak flavour are one of the best pub snacks ever behind scampi fries. Not convinced that this qualifies as a fact. More sort of.. a personal opinion. And a controversial one at that, can’t believe you left out the sacred Frazzle.

Crawley is a suburb of Perth, WA and like Crawley, West Sussex, it is also one of the most boring places on Earth. More boring that even Bowood House - a remnant of a time when the elite gifted presents to one another. A bit like the award of Covid contracts to the chums of politicians in office. How times have changed!!

Ollie lamenting the sacking of Johnson and Garner, pointing to their current positions in the leagues.
Yet both are a division down, so does this mean they were out of their depth? I do think Garner was sacked too soon, but Johnson had enough time.
Ollie always bangs the drum for more time for managers. It's a managers union thing.

I dunno, I could think of more boring places, I mean, you have the university of Western Australia, Matilda Bay with the Royal Perth Yacht Club, I think I would rather spend a weekend hanging out there than maybe somewhere like Nempnett Thrubwell !

Well played Sir! (though it is almanac). And later Armagnac. The genius of Ray Davies. Ray is a living musical deity, along with Mick Jones and Jimmy Cliff. Anyway: "I like my football on a Saturday"

Anyway: "I like my football on a Saturday" I love the lyric This is my street and I'm never gonna leave it And I'm always gonna to stay here If I live to be ninety-nine 'Cause all the people I meet Seem to come from my street And I can't get away A real influence on so many artists since. Paul Weller and Madness especially. Rise n Fall by Madness is a concept album inspired by the Kinks

Anyway: "I like my football on a Saturday" Andy Partridge on Autumn Almanac www.kindakinks.net/misc/articles/almanac.html(Apologies for veering off track, I'm sure 'the football' will be returning soon).
