Jordan Henderson handles the ball.
Even the Liverpool fans looked away and appealed for handball.
He still argued.
Disappointed with his lack of respect for referees and the example he sets.

There was a local appeal on Saturday for Referees for their girls team from the same club where the incident of this thread started.
They said they were desperate.
A lady answered that they would get more young refs if they stopped the verbal abuse at matches.
Nothing to do with me I can assure you.
What goes around...as the saying goes.

Well, the authorities are reaping what they sow here I'm afraid. Here's what I mean. Arse players have clearly been instructed not to dispute decisions, their reward? They had the most incorrect VAR decisions awarded against them last season. An opposition player elbows Xhaka in the face, clearly deliberately, Xhaka didn't fall on the floor play acting, he grabbed the guy by the neck, and was sent off. The opposition player literally laughed as the red card was shown. If these are the rules of engagement then to prevent the opposition from gaining an advantage on the field you need to cheat and put pressure on officials to make the wrong decisions. It's not a one-off, this stuff happens all the time. Officials at the top of the game are weak and inconsistent, and it doesn't help their cause. So, back to your point, what happens if just before kick off in this local game your boy is in charge of, he goes around the side lines and explains to all of the people watching that if there is any verbal abuse, even aimed at your own team, there won't be even one warning, the game will immediately be abandoned?

It's not something he has ever done but yes in theory it's a good idea. Difficult in 10 minute tournament games. You will still get people who think they are down ashton gate. Someone has to make a stand.

Potentially box ticking yeah, but i hope she has a good game Totally agree. The bar is set pretty low in terms of the quality of male officials that we have, so I'm sure she'll be just fine. I want equality of opportunity everywhere, all across society, no barriers based on gender, skin colour or any other meaningless attribute, but I don't want preferential treatment afforded to people based on any of those characteristics either. To those who want equality of outcome, you promote the exact discrimination that you claim to campaign against. I have not found any mention of her performance on Saturday online, which is the way it should be. Same can't always be said of Bobby Madley or Trevor Kettle.

Her gender is irrelevant, she's there to do a job and should be judged purely on her performance.

Email received from the GFA in relation to the first incident on this thread.
They have spoken to the club and reminded them of the standards the Bristol Girls League and the GFA expect.
They have arranged to attend matches for this age group incognito to observe the parent and the team on behalf of the League and GFA.
They thanked my son for reporting the incident and hoped it didn't stop him from refereeing in future.
I am happy with this, I am realistic that nothing more is likely to happen.

The Avon Youth League which I ref in at under 15s and 16s levels are making a stand after many incidents in the opening two weeks of the season in their under 12s, 13s and 14s age groups. They have already had lots of young refs abused and this coming weekend they are not allocating refs to the top two divisions of the respective age groups to protect the referees. It means the home clubs have to provide parents or managers/coaches to ref their own games. They will hopefully realise that is is unacceptable to not respect referees
In the Avon Youth League under 15s and 16s divisions there are fewer than 40 per cent of matches usually get allocated a referee as many refs have left due to bad behaviour.

That is shocking, someone has to stand up to these bullies. The first 2 weeks are the worst, when everyone gets excited about the new season, they behave like pric*s. It sets the tone for the season. The GFA need to take action. Just cancel the fixtures, they will soon take notice.

I would like to call out Thomas Franks the Brentford manager for his disrespectful behaviour on the touchline vs Wolves yesterday.
He got rightly booked, but set a poor example.

Manchester United players trying to con the officials, Ronaldo being turned down 3 times for a penalty and then vehemently complaining.
Poor example from the current best player in the world.

Girls u10s today
Same player fouls for the 3rd time. Has been warned twice by the teenage referee.
A parent shouts 'come on ref how many times'. The ref tells him he is going to deal with it.
The parent continues by telling the ref he needs to talk to her coach.
The ref does this and the girl is subbed instead of being booked or worse.
The ref was already going to do this.
The parent should have let him referee the game instead of shouting out and undermining him in front of all the other parents, coaches and players.
The coaches of that team apologise to the ref at the end.
The parent apologised to his fellow parents, but....not to the teenage ref.
Something wrong there surely.
Well done ref
Again.

Referees are in charge, but some don't help themselves or their younger counterparts.
The penalty against Rovers was harsh on Saturday and would not have seen Swindon complain if not given.
The Milner incident yesterday needs explaining. I am not complaining as a Liverpool fan but the ref needs to come out and explain why it was not a 2nd yellow.

The Milner incident yesterday needs explaining. I am not complaining as a Liverpool fan but the ref needs to come out and explain why it was not a 2nd yellow. It wasn't given because a couple of clubs are always given preferential treatment. Man Utd and Liverpool players have always got away with far more than other teams. Brighton player uses the full weight of his body and outstretched arm to push Smith-Rowe over, after the player is pushed to the ground the defender's inertia, generated by the push, swings his upper body through at probably 45 degrees and the defender's upper arm ends up fully extended following the push. Looked at by VAR and that's an acceptable challenge apparently. I double treble, no backsies dare you to do that to a Liverpool or Utd attacker. No Arse player complained. Now here's the issue, if they crowd the referee every time anything like that happens it will eventually sway his decision making, so one team play by the rules and are in effect penalised, Utd cheat and harass officials every week and the authorities encourage it by giving them endless decisions in their favour. The officials even tried to cancel out Villa's late goal by awarding the softest of penalties straight after Villa had taken the lead, that followed Maguire hauling down a Villa attacker when he was the last defender, wear a Utd shirt and that's not even a foul. The game at the top level is corrupt. If viewers can't understand decisions and the rules appear to be made up as we go along then of course supporters are going to get frustrated and that frustration will be directed towards the person responsible for managing decisions on the pitch. See corrupt officials at the top end of the game and there's a natural association between that behaviour and the unfortunate person trying to control a game in the local park. As I've said already, stop the cheating and preferential treatment at the top of the game, have some figure head officials that people respect, and it just may filter down.

I wondered if the foul was against Henderson as he hacked him first. That's why the ref needs to explain. We could have done with var at rovers

We could have done with var at rovers From the dreadful camera view I could see of the penalty on Saturday it looked as if the ball travelled at speed from not far away, any defender on the line is going to try to block it. Penalty, hmmm, probably, but an offence worthy of being dismissed? Certainly didn't look it from the highlight footage.

I was side on in the tent and he was 8 yards out, on the line yes, but it wasn't necessarily going in. I don't even think Swindon appealed

In recent times has there ever been a less talented player than James Milner or Phil Jones for clocking up a decent number of England caps? Both slow, mindless cloggers. Oh, hang on. Phil Jones is a manu player and James Milner has his caps playing for man citeh and liverpool. I think I'm with @thinwhiteduke conspiracy theory on this one.
