One of our many problems last season (identified by Emperor) was the bypassing of midfield - particularly under Joey. Listening on iFollow today, we've again had comparatively little of the ball in the middle of the park and therefore no chance to impose ourselves on the game. Saunders has barely seen the ball.

It’s not been too bad bar the mistake for their goal.
Westbrook is ducking out of challenges again.
We’ve created one chance on goal (Saunders). The deliveries from corners and free kicks looks better.

Coutts, Grant & Thomas can't get on the ball. Couttss is there to act as screen according to commentary. As Grant classes himself as defender, maybe anchor should be his skill set and we are expecting too much flair and creativity from him pushed forward. Taking the longer view I am quite optimistic based on the management mentality today Phil. My main fear for start of this season has evaporated in the last hour. That is, was, the defensive mindset that haunted final month of last season has gone. 4 at the back, even from the corner we conceded we had two up. Add to that praise from the commentary about the class of Hughes, this has been a promising afternoon for Gas so far. In the bigger picture.

Those at ground, anyone in away end boo their own manager in wall of boo as he appeared? I booed from home, any use? no use at all no. A mixed support from our own fans in the ground would have been more indicative of the fan base opinion than keyboard influencers booing from sitting rooms.

Sorry but Dido says that I'm not allowed to say that I absolutely refuse to be counted amongst attendees whilst this lout is associated with my club, and I'm not the only one, so all I can offer is heartfelt booing from a distance.

Lee Brown (Portsmouth) and Andy Williams (Cheltenham) both score.
Harries with a great goal, great technique to hit a left volley that arced into the goal.
Garners Swindle 2-1 up away from home. McCormick nets for AFC Dons

Noted - people should feel able to do what feels right for them. With football fans being fickle, I think some will swing either way, depending on the result today.

McCormick nets for AFC Dons He’s a mercurial manager that Ben Garner though, the Rovers side we had last season Tommy and Starnes put together even looked half capable of staying up under him.

Basel - note our bet about Rovers having a terrible disciplinary record this season. Coutts red carded and Andy Mangan (the coach) yellow carded

Sounds like Coutts is cut from the same cloth as Joeybag?

Definitely. In hindsight we could have been selling off those young players for a transfer fee this season had we stuck with the plan!!

Basel - note our bet about Rovers having a terrible disciplinary record. Coutts red carded and Andy Mangan (the coach) yellow carded in terms of 3 match suspension though, Grantt will smoothly slot into anchor role and may even have a better midfield without two anchors in there. And Hughes maybe a better leader on pitch.
