Sounds like we were rubbish according to the match report on Bristol Live. We need a striker Westbrook apart, it was abysmal. They pressed us high up the pitch, and we didn`t have a clue. Most of the time, the ball either went sideways or back.
The defence was all over the place; a decent league team would have scored at least a couple. Hanlan tried his best, couldn`t fault his effort, but if he gets more than five goals this season, I`ll be surprised. Hope I`m wrong though. It does happen.

There have been discussions about beating non-league teams in friendlies and I can understand early friendlies being used to get minutes in for the players and to assess people. But for the H&W game the team, line up and tactics must/should have been close to the season's starting ones and we should be doing better against a team two leagues down and a week behind us in pre-seasons. OK we were missing players, but so are most teams. It's an easy cop out for managers to say, "The result is not important in friendlies" but it is to get the winning feeling. I suspect Joey would have been involved in team selection etc.

Once the squad is fit and ready for selection I think we'll challenge. As long as JB is back.

Definitely I support everyone who will refuse Rovers until B*****'s removed, as I choose, but I support too everyone who will support their club regardless. You know what I think, but I respect how we differ. Being on a Rovers forum is surely a sign of support ? I guess there is a difference between 'active support' and 'support'. Not 1p of my money has gone to Bristol Rovers since February 22nd. No iFollow. No purchases from the shop. I will not attend a Rovers games while Mr B***** is manager. My active support has been withdrawn.

You keep telling us what you think, but when will you back it up with some evidence to justify it? “As long as JB is back.“. And if not, if it’s Hill? Joey and club can’t carry on business as usual after this week, it’s going to prove unsustainable. The B***** haters are going to wet themselves watching Joey and the club try. 🤣

I simply said it's good the Manager is back at work.I don't have to justify such obvious commonsense. Hill as leader is an unknown quantity,is'nt he? Spoke well after the H&W game I thought. Edit. See how things are ten games in ,look there for "evidence ".

I think we can all see this squad needs a center forward, we struggle to compete for most crosses into the box from open play as we lack any aerial threat. Also that player who can play with his back to goal and be strong enough to hold off defenders and pick a pass. If we can find a striker with those attributes i believe our chance creation and general play in the final third would be much improved. Still have to take those chances though.

I read on otib (I know) that apparently, we are interested in Brett Pitman, currently at Swindon Town. Even if true, they now have a new owner and so he may not fancy leaving to join Rovers. Kept fit, maybe a decent signing.

Once they start playing on the downs again
we should be able to find someone better than Hanlan
