Jonah Ayunga and Josh Barrett's spells at Bristol Rovers appear to be coming to an end with the pair not part of Joey B*****'s plans for the season ahead, Bristol Live understands. B***** has committed significant capital and resources in the transfer market to bolstering Rovers' options on the wings and in attacking midfield, plunging Barrett down the pecking order. And with a proven goalscorer atop B*****'s wishlist for the remainder of the transfer window, Ayunga's playing opportunities are set to be limited and he will be allowed to pursue opportunities elsewhere. www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-transfer-news-rumours-5674064shame about Jonah IMO

Barrett was a waste of time.
Ayunga did'nt score enough goals and it seems JB does'nt want him.
Fi gets crossed they leave very quickly and we can bid for others.

Never good enough for League 1 but I think he could be a useful tool in League 2.
I have a feeling we could be playing against him this season if he is released.

Sam Nicholson has uploaded a video to Insta of him training with Barrett, it seems a bit early in pre season to write him off, but who else is going to sign an injury prone youngster when squad sizes are so restricted?

He’s a barrel. He’s a football playing Mars bar. We paid a fee for him. He was given a good wage.
Whose sorry the Barrel rolled off into the sunset?
Unless a player like that is good and consistent enough you build the side round him, as Liverpool Did Molby, then where do they fit in in this modern game?

I think there is more to be said on this one. Kelly and Leahy already here. Tutonda here. Why did the club take Koiki too? There wasn’t game time for them all. it really does suggest agents, in the form of Saruman, enchanting King Theoden - you can’t miss out on this opportunity, not buts about it.

Ayunga sold to Morecambe of League One. Ayunga did'nt score enough goals in perhaps the worst ever Rovers side.Cheerio. Hopefully the cash to sign JBs main strijer target is now available.

A lot of the forwards the great reset has given us are quite young. Not many in the magic 25-31 bracket when playing at peak. They do collectively have a fair bit of experience as a group, though not great goal to game ratio. And question mark what level they have scored at. Is it fair to say the problem up front we have had even when Jonno was here (when he was injured what did we have) is still a question mark wether it’s finally been sorted? We have been lacking a rotation and good bench option on forward play for a very very long time; in that sense it’s no surprise we struggled? Forwards Harvey Saunders (23): Hartlepool, Darlington, Fleetwood. Goals 15 from 111. GPG 0.14 Aaron Collins (24): Forest Green Rovers, Colchester, Morecambe. Goals 20 from 150. GPG 0.13 Luke Thomas (22) Loanee: Ipswich, Barnsley, Coventry. Goals 6 from 122. GPG 0.05 Harry Anderson (24). Lincoln, St Albans, Braintree. Goals 26 from 199. GPG 0.13

I am sorry that Ayunga has gone. Clearly not our main 20 goal per season striker, but I feel there is a good striker in there.

Was widders right that the players were good enough yet the coaching and management was just below league one standard.

Two or three of them are near 25 years old. They look like players that may bloom this season.I think they look handy. Goals win games etc. It would be nice to sign a "proven" scorer/striker.Can we afford it £? We don't usually sign proven scorers do we. Although we may well have our eye on one more forward ,they often hold out for the biggest wages. We'll see.

However if we need space maybe best for both parties, but wish him well and will look on with interest how he does at Morecombe. Good club, and not quite the expectation as here, so may help him.

Listening to Radio Stoke this morning, the teams they cover seem to have a more accomplished communication network than Rovers.Crewe manager discussing his options on who to appoint as captain this season. Always great to hear DC on his thoughts at Vale too.Stoke boss has spoken about his loanee to us. Would be nice for us to worry about such things as the new captain rather than damaging national press coverage but communication has never been our strong point. Mind you Nick Higgs put out a regular missive but never actually said anything.
