Is pirate the guy who had the username Wes ? Really enjoy his posts and exceptional knowledge of prospects and their style of play. I seem to recall him saying he used to send this onto the club but never had any , not even the courtesy, of replies. I would think a fair few clubs would be grateful of the reports I'm not sure pirate has confirmed or denied that he is/was Wes, but he does his research on players and puts his thoughts and videos on line.
Our best ever scout was the tea lady.
One player but the first million pound GK and we got a very good GK in exchange too. Brian “the lion” Parkin was a good keeper, until the back pass rules changed

Luke Thomas confirmed - season long loan Read a fair bit about this, had problems with being homesick and is said to have huge potential. A really good catch by B***** and the rest Bristol Rovers have signed Barnsley forward Luke Thomas on a season-long loan deal. The 22-year-old has scored once in 58 league games for the Tykes and had a loan spell at Ipswich last season. "His experience of playing Championship football for his young age is a strong point of difference," boss Joey B***** told the club website. "He's a really exciting talent who will help us carry a proper threat across the front line." Luke Gerald Michael Thomas (born 19 February 1999) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Bristol Rovers on loan from Championship side Barnsley. Previously with Cheltenham Town and Derby County, he also played for Gloucester City and Coventry City on loan prior to joining Barnsley in 2019. Thomas began his career with National League club Cheltenham Town, making his only first team appearance against Chelmsford City in the FA Trophy. He had a trial with Portuguese club Benfica in 2015. He joined Derby County in January 2016 for an undisclosed transfer fee, signing a two-and-a-half-year professional contract. He had a loan spell with National League North club Gloucester City during the 2016–17 season. Thomas was nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award in September 2017 as a result of his performances for Derby County's under-23 team. He signed a new three-year contract with Derby in October 2017. He was first named in a first team matchday squad on 31 October 2017 against Leeds United and made his league debut on 21 November 2017, coming on as an 89th-minute substitute for Tom Lawrence in a 2–0 win over Queens Park Rangers. Thomas signed a new four-year contract with Derby in August 2018. Later that month, he joined League One Coventry City on a half-season loan until the start of 2019. In January 2019, the loan was extended for the rest of the season. In June 2019, he joined Barnsley for an undisclosed fee. On his debut he scored the winning goal for Barnsley in a 1–0 win against Fulham. In January 2021, Thomas joined Ipswich Town on loan for the remainder of the season. On 8 April 2021, Thomas announced on social media that he had cut his loan move with Ipswich short due to personal reasons and he returned to Barnsley. On 10 July 2021, Thomas joined League Two side Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan deal. Thomas has played 132 games, scoring 8 goals.

Harry Anderson Signs for Bristol Rovers! Just now Bristol Rovers F.C. are delighted to announce the signing of Harry Anderson!
Anderson arrives at the Mem after putting pen to paper on a two year deal. The pacey winger is still just 24 years old, despite an illustrious spell with Lincoln City since initially joining them on loan in the National League back in 2016. After impressing in Lincoln's promotion clinching campaign, Anderson secured a move from Peterborough to the Imps and continued to show his quality. Striking up a deadly partnership with Bruno Andrade in the 2018-19 season, Anderson was part of a Lincoln side that romped their way to the League Two title, making it two promotions in three years for the London-born wide man. Anderson was also part of the Lincoln side that lifted the EFL Trophy in 2018. Since signing permanently with Lincoln at the beginning of the 2017 campaign, Anderson has never made less than 37 appearances for the Imps during a campaign, in total his appearances surpass 200 in red and white. Swapping the red and white stripes for the blue and white quarters, he will be hoping to build on his consistent goal and assist return, directly contributing to 63 goals in his time with the Imps. Anderson brings a never say die attitude to the field, and will now link up with a Rovers side in the midst of pre-season. On the signing, Manager Joey B***** said "We are delighted to have Harry on board. "He's a talented player, who's spent the last season playing regularly in the league above and we’ve done really well to fend off other interest to secure his services. "Harry has already won promotion out of league two with Lincoln and his experience of that and what is required will be vital to us in the coming months”

They are coming in relatively early and in quantity. Many are under 24 so maybe there is future transfer fee potential. Almost all are Northerners. I wonder is there is a pattern in the agents used by the players or how B*****’s team selected the transfer targets.
With Widders demoted to loaning our existing players how many players are now out on loan? Do you think he buys into ‘the great reset’?
“Widdrington remains on the club's board, but he has been given a much less influential position, which will see him take charge of loan departures and "mirroring the first-team philosophy, that will be set by the first-team Manager, across the academy structure".

A Bit More Info on Harry...
League Two club Bristol Rovers have signed former Lincoln City winger Harry Anderson on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old, whose five-year spell with the Imps ended earlier this summer, has agreed a two-year deal with the Pirates.
"He's a talented player, who spent last season playing regularly in the league above," Rovers boss Joey B***** told the club website.
"We've done really well to fend off other interest to secure his services."
He added: "Harry has already won promotion out of League Two with Lincoln and his experience of that and what is required will be vital to us in the coming months."
Harry has played in 240 games scoring 33 goals and many assists.

Not having a go at B*****'s signings, as don't know enough about them, but...have we got an actual goal scorer in the squad yet?

An attacking midfielder/winger/striker/which ever position applies, he nevertheless will be expected to weigh in with several goals throughout the course of a season. I do however take your point its disingenuous to compare him with Nichols.

He did, which either means he's off his trolley, or he has a crystal ball that shows both of them having umm, somewhat better seasons than last. Ah well, 3 weeks to go until we find out.
