Brilliant stuff.
Interesting to see how this will be twisted to be somehow bad news.

I see a letter once every 3-4 months but lots of social media, maybe you can change my mind as I admit that I’ve missed a lot, due to the pandemic. What are the parameters please ?

The "index" is compiled by a company called "Think Fan Engagement". Exeter were rated best out of the 92 clubs (actually 91, as the results are for the 2019-2020 season in which Bury were missing). Rovers scored well on dialogue, but not so well on governance or transparency. Link to Think Fan Engagement"Think Fan Engagement (Fan Insights) was set up by Kevin Rye, who's been at the centre of a unique network of fans, clubs and decision makers in football and sport for nearly 20 years.
Think Fan Engagement works with clubs & other rights holders, brands and other organisations who seek to understand fans and the relationships they have with their clubs, focusing initially (but not exclusively) on football and strongly advocating a culture of listening. We publish the annual Fan Engagement Index, covering the top four divisions of English men’s football, and the Fan Engagement Pod, available wherever you get your podcasts".

Noticed nothing whatsoever, apart from 'open letters' which are actually statements promoting what the club thinks it has done well. How anybody can be pretending that we should be congratulating the people who run this club is totally beyond me. We're relegated, rock bottom of the division, failed to act to prevent relegation in January, are hemorrhaging money and the manager that they've chosen to employ has a court case scheduled related to allegedly assaulting the manager of another club. But we kept our half of the pitch nice and tidy and our jerseys were much nicer than the other teams', oh, and we kicked off very well.

Good grief. This is how professional our communication is. Today we still have Garner named as our manager on the club's supporters' charter, which by the way could do with tidying up, I'm no expert but can see some grammar issues. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/contentassets/6e1232a5072a49729d5c3c18476d8a4d/charter2021.pdfIt also suggests in the 'Introduction' section that the club consults supporters regularly via the SC. Maybe I've missed something but the last I heard our SC elected representative was kicked out of the board room and we no longer had any representation via the Share Scheme. I thought that the relationship between the SC and the FC was 'frosty' at best. But maybe it's better now and they have both just not communicated that on any of the platforms that I'm active on?

Lots of emails come my way, very often targeted and personalised. It's excellent. Social media output is impressive (to me) also. I don't expect many on here to agree, because they would lose their reason for being on this site if they did. Have fun. Edited for spelling, as now have my glasses on!

I have noticed a change in you and I do not understand it. I asked a genuine question as I am on the mailing list but got zilch plus it’s up to me to look up the club, on social media. I get so much from the 82 yet I’m not one of them. As for the have fun remark, what the buggery is that about ? Take care

Seems that we have had similar experiences on this. People are getting very touchy of late. Ah well, as my dearly departed eldest brother used to say, don’t worry about others, just get on with your own life as it’s all temporary in any case

Many of our fanbase are in the older category, there are still people who do not have Internet skills. How anyone can put a positive spin , on the clubs last 2 seasons in particular is beyond me but there you go. Each to his or her own.

I gave you a genuine answer.

Yes, of course it’s been crap on the football front but I guess this stuff is all the non-football areas. Doesn’t make up for it at all but it’s good to see that some stuff is not all bad. And, tbf, if we were 91st like Swindon everyone would be giving the owners, board etc. some stick. So credit where it’s due. And, if we’re 18th the ones below us must be awful! We were 11th /91 for dialogue, 44th for governance and 22nd for transparency. (If I’ve counted correctly!) Well done everyone who were responsible to the big improvement from the previous year.
UTG!
ps. And after all the successful community work that the Trust does and the recognition at the EFL Awards evening for them and for the work Alex Rodman has done means that during the time frames for these achievements, 2019-20 for the improvement in the Fans Engagement stuff and 2020-21 for the EFL Awards our club has done pretty well. Well done to all concerned over 2 years.

Great to see us catching Exeter City up off the pitch at last. I agree with Marcus Stewart, its the level we need to aim for.

Ken clearly forgot to leave the operation manual of the fax machine on his way out the door...

Whatever you think of him, I think that there has been a radical change in the energy levels of our owner, since the death of his father and his emancipation from his elder brother.
However I am more of a 16:53 / 21:37 person when it comes to judging football clubs.
