It's also my daughter's birthday.
I remember getting stick from the Mrs for going to a 'football match' instead of being with my daughter on her birthday.
Like I was going to miss that game.

Another happy 2 May in 1998 beat Brentford sent them down but we made the place offs after goals from Jamie Cureton and superb winner after quality cioss by Matt Lockwood for Barry Hayles to score the winner. We messed it up at Northampton in second leg.
A more upsetting 2 May was 20 years ago tonight. Lost 2 1 at home to Wycombe Wanderers to send us to the basement division for the first time in our history. Three home games that week lost to Port Vale and beat Wrexham but that was too late. We were down. Sad evening but 1990 one was fantastic.

100 years ago today...
Rovers 5 Exeter City 0 - (02/05/1921). - Sid Leigh became the first Rovers player to score 4 goals in a league game. - He was also the first to score a first-half hat-trick.

The youngsters will find this hard to believe, but on that night I was living in a flat in Croydon with no phone, no access to Radio Bristol and no Sky Sports on the TV - so it was only when the sports news came on national radio after 10 o'clock that I found out the score. Unbelievable Jeff, in so many ways.
