Swindon relegated.
The headlines on BBC football page.
Spot the difference?
Never mind football is owned by the fans.

True, but it was always going to happen when you appoint a high profile manager. Chelsea’s were Chelsea until Frank Lampard was appointed then they became “Frank Lampard’s Chelsea”, Derby became “Wayne Rooney's Derby Co”. We will now be “Joey B*****’s Bristol Rovers”. Fame at last!! A sign of the times I’m afraid. The BBC love a celebrity. UTG!

Media like to create celebrities, and then abuse them. A bit like our own relationship with our voodoo dolls.

As said on a different thread yesterday, scroll down to the comments, the majority are uncomplimentary and are directed towards B*****. The good name of our club has been dragged into the gutter. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56781897

Sounds like a dodgy car dealership but that would actually be a massive step-up in governance standards, competency, planning and relationship with the law from where we currently sit.

You might be on to something here. Isn't irenestoyboy a Wael Al-Qadi superfan? He runs a car dealership. He's evidently in direct contact with Wael. One has to wonder. In the initial conversation in the run up to the appointment. Who exactly put forward the name of Mr B*****? Who first uttered those poisonous words? Board member, superfan or Wael himself? Scenario 1. A Board member suggests Mr B*****. After much merriment this random brain-fart of an idea is slapped down TW, TG, and MS. Unless it comes from KM-B. Who would appear to be Wael's BFF. At this point the Board are too weak to slap down this ludicrous suggestion, and we are where we are. Scenario 2. A superfan suggests Mr B***** to Wael. Wael looks at the number of Instagram followers and decides right there and then that Mr B***** is the man for the job. At this point the Board are too weak to slap down this ludicrous suggestion, and we are where we are. Scenario 3. Wael looks for someone with lots of Instagram followers and comes up with Mr B*****. His mind is made up. At this point the Board are too weak to slap down this ludicrous suggestion, and we are where we are. Whichever way you look at it. The Board should hang their heads in shame.

Many may well laugh at this Ian but I wouldn’t doubt that it is that far from the truth. People, me too, had lots of antipathy towards Higgs but at least he sold the club on for his money back and hoping he sold it to the right person/people. I do not see this happening ever again as this set in motion an irreversible chain of events. Wael can write as many letters as he wants but I don’t trust him nor his words, at all.

Indeed!, Perhaps B***** offered his services for free and Wael rolled the dice again, I know he has a contract, but anybody have any idea of his salary?. B***** has told us he is very very wealthy so he does not need the money I guess, slightly gainful employment though will do him no harm at all in view of June, and job's for his boyo's I guess. It has got to be something different to the norm that finds him with us.

You don't appear to have covered the possibility that all of the BoD thought it a super idea.

You don't appear to have covered the possibility that all of the BoD thought it a super idea. I don't think for one minute that the Board unanimously thought that this was a good decision. They can't all be that stupid. I'm just not having it. What we have is a weak Board. And this is the crux of the problem - NONE OF THEM ARE BRISTOL ROVERS SUPPORTERS. Oh the bitter irony, Wael is probably the closest thing we have to a Gashead in the Boardroom. Wael must have come to the conclusion that Mr B***** was the prime target. To the extent that he also allowed him to bring his own backroom staff in. A luxury that Paul Tisdale was not afforded. Obviously no-one stood up and put forward a strong counter argument against the B***** appointment. Because they wanted to keep their salary. Wael has surrounded himself with 'yes men'. Happy to line their own pockets whilst the Club is dragged into the gutter. They put their own financial needs ahead of the best interests of the Football Club. Charlatans and frauds. Well that's how I see it. I can't sit on the fence forever.

As I read it, I think you and TTWD are in agreement

Following on from mention that Grimsbury are set to go back to the National League, Barnet, the team that beat us to automatic promotion from the Conference, are going to have their relegation from the National League confirmed over the next few matches.
We all know that things can very quickly go from bad to worse, listening to Punchy and Wael, they both seem totally oblivious to the possibility.

Still shows how fortunes can change quickly and how losing can become a habit that's difficult to shake off. Anyway, as I see it, our primary objective at this stage is to avoid relegation from L2.

The following was posted on 2nd Feb on the Burton Albion forum by one of theirs.
Congratulations to them more than anyone I feel.
"It seems as if the teams above us are imploding. Bristol rovers are in freefall as are Wimbledon and Wigan. Northampton cannot score, and although Swindon won, they are out of form. We had played more games than everyone else, now we are level, and in some cases games in hand. It is not a lost cause, and if we can go on a run, we could still stay up. We have to start winning home games."
