I thought I'd try this: thefishy.co.uk/calc.phpI entered results for all remaining fixtures in League Two. We stay up by 1 point, finishing in 20th. We get 11 points from the last 6 games: beating MK Dons, Lincoln and Crewe. Drawing with Northampton and Blackpool. Losing to Portsmouth. Overly optimistic? Probably! My reasoning is: MK Dons and Crewe will have relatively little to play for. Lincoln's form has collapsed. The game with Northampton will be very tense. Neither side can afford to lose. I expect Portsmouth to have the better of us, even though I suspect the Cowley bounce will have subsided by then. What it did show me is that we may well need 11 from 6. i.e - winning at least 3 and only losing 1. What do you think?

Still think Rochdale, Northampton, Swindle for the drop - with one more from either, Gas, Dons or Wig Wam Bam!

They are in form and heading for at least the play offs.

I think franchise forms decent too.
I think you are focussing a bit much on the opposition. Does this Rovers side have it in them to score the goals to get the points, regardless of the opposition? Play Doncaster again this weekend and play just as well does not guarantee three points is how football works. Like the day kit less Mansfield mentally on plane to the med sent us down, because we let something in and failed to score.
I fancied us for 3 v Donny, don’t predict more than one at town because 6 pointer is pressure on both sides not to lose, it won’t be so open. I also think Joey will slip back into his dum ways of slimming down midfield again. In final table only Rochdale keeps us off bottom. It’s scandalous really, when Garner saw off Northampton earlier in season both teams looked like they belonged in different leagues.

What do I think?
I think we're already down, it's just a question of when it's confirmed. We've seen a few relegation seasons and this one has the typical hallmarks of many of them...
Sorry.
I like the o p optimism though...

I like the o p optimism though... Swindle could be in serious trouble here, no idea if this could result in a points deduction but it reads as if it's a major breach of financial rules. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56666046

This looks serious, an agent owning 50% of the club is my understanding. Doubt that there's even a punishment scheduled for that. Haven't looked at the wording of what the charge is, if it's a financial infringement then it could well drift into the area of points deduction. If so, it's all about timing and whether that happens this season or they start next season with a deduction. What is it with that club and being in a state of perpetual crisis? One day it's going to catch up with them and they'll go the same way that Bury have.

Well we needed 4 wins prior to Monday, we’ve picked up one of them so a good start. Saturday is arguably the biggest game we have yet to play, bar perhaps the final game if there is something still resting on it for us.
Win at Northampton and I’ll be confident enough to suggest that we’ll stay up. We’d probably only need two wins then and I reckon we could get them in the final 3 homes matches against Lincoln, Crewe and MK Dons. Maybe we’d even pick up a point in one of the remaining away games.
Lose the Northampton game and I think we’d massively struggle to get the points required, especially when we will have gifted one of our rivals three points. Don’t really fancy our chances in the away matches against Pompey and Blackpool and we’d be probably looking at having to win all our 3 home games just to be in with a chance of staying up.
A draw isn’t as disastrous as a loss, but it would put a lot of pressure on us to win our home games, to be in with a chance of staying up on the final day. A draw would suit Northampton a lot more than it would more than us.
So staying up is possible, but remains unlikely until we know the result of Saturday. We’ve put a stop to our declining form in general with Monday’s win, now we’ve got to end this awful patch of away form. UTG.

Think you could be right, I would take a draw right now, but a win gives us a real chance.

What we tend to forget though is just how bad the other teams in the mix are.....I mean really, really terrible. Normally Rovers would be down now but 43 points will be comfortably enough to stay up!

As was said, it will be much clearer after the Northampton match. That match is as important a game as we’ve had over the past 4 years. Saturday night on the forums may be good or very, very bad! UTG!

Still not convinced it’s 4 or 5 short. Northampton proved today how terrible some of the bottom 6 teams are. A decent u-18 team would have beaten them. A modest number of points from the next 5 games i.e. 6 will be enough to keep Rovers afloat. Rochdale, Swindon, Northampton and Wigan to go down. They really are terrible. Most of them will struggle in League 2 next year .

The bums are starting to squeak.
