Lucky there weren't any supporters when the 3rd goal was scored, bloke runs and slides on his knees and acts like a twit in front of Oxford management, it could have all got a bit silly after him doing that.

I would love to see refs starting booking players for twattish behaviour. I'd start with a mandatory yellow for anyone who does the finger to lip 'shhh' goal celebration in an empty stadium.

I`d brandish an immediate red to any fenian player, who crosses themself during a game.

I saw that and my first thought was what happened to bookings for ungentlemanly conduct? It was, I believe, replaced by Unsporting Behaviour. What does Unsporting Behaviour include? Players over celebrating and inciting crowds (obviously not at the moment)? Players diving is included and is a bookable offence. Players feigning injury? Stopping free kicks being taken by standing in front of the ball? Stealing 5-10 yards at throw ins? Continually pushing the referees to the edge by continual low-level fouling? I fear the chance to do something about ungentlemanly conduct/unsporting behaviour went many years ago. Players cheating by pretending, feigning injury, diving and even celebrating like dicks is now so commonplace in the game the refs have little chance to pull it back now. Now players complain about everything that doesn’t go their way so I have little sympathy for the players. I think they are reaping what they’ve sowed for so many years. It’s the fans who have lost out as they always seem to, by players acting like dicks and trying to annoy opposition fans by celebrating in front of them, when they’re there. It would be great to see referees clamp down on some of this stuff. It would be even better to see managers, coaches and even owners reminding players of the need to stop but that’s never going to happen is it? Respect for the game and the referee has gone. Sadly. UTG!

Unfortunately trying to con the ref is seen as part of the game in some countries.
Watching Son lie dead on the floor at the weekend or Neymar last night was bad enough.
Though the supposed foul by Daly at weekend where there was daylight between him and the Northampton player was one of the worst cases seen recently.
Does make my blood boil.
You wish referee's were made to watch some incidents again to make them think.

Unfortunately I suspect in their training they must watch incidents such as Son’s sham 3 minute injury yet there appears to be no impact on their performances as referees. I’d be amazed if, as part of their on-going training, they don’t get to watch controversial incidents. But then again..... UTG!
