Another vital 6 pointer and opportunity to build on Tuesdays significant win. Feel the team who started against Accrington should remain to show they can repeat the performance.
Beware Pigott

I don’t care how we do it, but let’s just get three points and out a little space between us and the drop zone.

Stats for AFC Wimbledon are P18, W10, D3, L5 - Stats for Wimbledon are P5, W1, D3, L1.
We need another performance like the 4-1 on tuesday, i'm going for a 2-0 home win.
Last time we played them was on the 5th december winning handsomely 2-4.

Since we were relegated to league 2 for the first time, AFC Wimbledon have managed to form a club from scratch on the common, win promotions through the pyramid all way to the football league, and build a brand new stadium in their spiritual home that was taken from them. All without any Middle Eastern cash injections, just hard work and good business sense. Good on them and best of luck to them

Piggott.....much coveted by many clubs and was rumoured to be available for less than £500k.
Agree with o p starting lineup, pending no injuries or niggles. They fought hard for it, and deserve another chance.
Consistency. That's what is required. The standard has been set to get ourselves out of the mess we've placed ourselves in, so it's key to retain consistency.
Losing isn't an option, but historically Wimbledon have given us a tough match at home....BG first match we could only draw, and the season before they pretty much surprised us by completely outplaying us and winning.
I'll plump for a 2 goal victory.... COME ON YOU BLUES!

It’s interesting that Rovers have a poor record against bottom 6 sides, bottom of the mini league iirc. For me the result very much depends on how Wimbledon cope with the press Barton has implemented. You would expect a club like Wimbledon not having the skill or nous to get round it so today should really be a win.

Although they don't score many goals (like us), when Wimbledon do score it's often late. That suggests to me their mentality is pretty strong and that this game is going to be tough. Barring knocks, I hope Joey will start the same XI as the Accrington game. We are long overdue a draw, which is a result neither side wants or needs. I have a strange feeling that 2 - 2 is on the cards.

Are we actually in competition with the teams around us, and looking at their results. If I was manager I’d simply say no.
Correct me where I am wrong, a win today and we are on 36 with 12 to go? Just 12 points gets us to 48, and we will get more than 12 from the last 12 games. We are basically just ourselves against a points tally, one game at a time. No need to look at other results and play mind games with ourselves.
This can be back to back wins, and three at home on the trot. Before the stats started looking good, you could feel us getting more miserly at back and more creative up front game by game. Unlike Tis Joey has kept to a settled game plan. It’s not necessarily running around and pressing, because too much of that too early and you can tire later on, we pressed Accrington more later in the game when we had advantage, early on we were taking a good shape and playing ourselves into the game.
One thing it is lacking, and whilst we shouldn’t put too many eggs in one basket, we are maybe lacking a playmaker? What do you think? Whose playing the number 10? I think performances could be better with someone in the pivot, or sitting between midfield and attack looking for space and demanding the ball.
If I were to say Modric, Erickson, Grealish, Bradley Dack, we have in the team 4 pretenders, but not an outstanding candidate as someone in this side who can make us tick over. Like an engine that needs tuning, it’s still not quite purring.

I'm going to give it a miss today. Not feeling the love for the club for the first time ever, sorry. We have an awful habit of playing badly against the perceived worse teams so I don’t blame you plus, I feel the same way. A mixture of coviditis plus finding other things to do, that don’t mess my weekend up. Hope you have a decent weekend

Wimbledon seeing far more of the ball but we've created the better chances. Pigott a real presence.

Wimbledon seeing far more of the ball but we've created the better chances. Pigott a real presence. That sums it up. posession territory dons with nice on the deck play, but we have allowed them ZERO chances. We have had some good chances. We should be ahead. Again.
