The S word is safety! And I make it odds on.
We are on 30. 14 games. 48 could well keep us up. 18 points from 14 games. I make it 50-55 chance we stay up.
This week is BIGGGGGG! 4 points from these two home games. 14 points from 12 and we can stay up. 6 points from these two games. 12 needed from 12. And we will definitely get that. 6 defeats, 3 draws and only 3 wins and we are on 48. 75-80 we would do that.
So here is discussion topic under thread header. What will happen then? What should happen then?
Staying up is a huge victory for Joey. Credit will be due, and he becomes a little bit iconic as a gashead as he has done it without the team experience and cutting edge cocko did it with. There will be less questions for Wael and Tommy too. What will likely happen is, in the smiles of survival the shortcomings of squad and poor decisions will be spun over, and we will start next season with everything pretty much in place to give it another big push.
If we go down without the problems addressed, the same problems could drop us out the league altogether, so every single gashead needs to get behind this survival push to eliminate that possibility of dropping out the football league end of next season. Sure, without the issues in squad and club addressed we can struggle again next year, but it will be different because a second season of trouble will really focus action on what needs sorting, with the safety net of two relegations to oblivion not one. That’s what we need to happen. And even before good points haul this week I make odds on we get what we need.

In the scenario we stay 3rd tier,Joey will deserve much praise, as you say EmpororSB.
I would then like to see Joey get rid of who he liked and as much help from WAQ to bring in the players he wants.
TW can leave.JB can select his targets.Joey can turn Rovers into a proper professional fc,he knows his way around them.
As long as JB is'nt sentenced for a long stretch,he should stay Rovers manager.A Temp can run it,until JB is freed.

In a scenario where this court case goes ahead, he gets convicted and given a custodial sentence, so it's proven that he did indeed attack the Barnsley manager and injure him in that way, you would want to keep his post open until he's released? Christ on a bike Bas, just listen to yourself! Anyway, if that court case goes ahead, and if he's convicted, the football authorities may have something to say about his immediate future in the game.

Yep,as was posted yesterday the FA might eg ban JB for sometime and then I imagine he'll be let go.Eg a 1 year ban. Yes,I'm serious. We have a bloke who knows how successful FCs are run.WAQ has an opportunity to get the club going upwards. It'll be interesting to see if the alleged crime is as bad as some suggest. I wonder what the deal is between JB and WAQ on the possible prison sentence.

I'm backing Joey to a certain extent and others have suggested it's a matter of where you personally draw the line. I think actual imprisonment may cross that line for most people Bas! That actually cheered me up a bit

Managing from a prison cell would certainly Top Trump Atkins watching from the TV gantry and phoning his instructions down to the bench.

I think in view of his comments about a malaise across the club Starnes and Widdrington will get rid as soon as they can because it puts the spotlight on them! A guilty verdict will be a perfect excuse....

I’ll say this: we’d certainly get the publicity Wael craves if we were the only club in the football league whose manager was making his signings from inside. Do you think club officials would take new signings to meet the manager down Horfield nick so B***** can stand in the exercise yard with them holding a “true blue forever” scarf between them?

Whether WAQ would be up for is one thing, but if Joey got sentenced to 3 months eg,it would be perfectly possible to run Rovers from inside.
A la the Krays with their criminal empire.
Firstly a 12 week sentence would be shortened to about 8 for - hopefully- good behaviour."Calm down"!"Calm down"!
Before Court joey selects players he wants gone and players he wants to sign.
One of his men - not TW,hopefully he's gone - do the player Summer shopping.
Communication with Joey should be fine as I imagine he'll have internet and a mobile.
Joey's men keep things going with regular contact with the Boss.
Rovers get worldwide coverage. We may even change our pantomime badge for a more authentic Pirate type design.
Joey is freed and you never know, the FA may decide prison and managing Rovers is punishment enough.
Would'nt worry me.

Probably 2-3 months, which will be served in the close season, and Mangan and Hill can take care of other affairs.

Or, as JAB is claiming innocence and would have said so during his interview, is there a clause in the contract he has just signed leading to its termination should he be convicted and banged up? It is bad enough being described as "Joey B*****'s Bristol Rovers" in articles but getting convicted taints the club further.
