It's not over till Joey B sings Optimistic and keen to turn us around Clint Hill needs to sort defence out and Joey needs Hanlan Daly Ayunga scoring. Impressed with McCormick despite his error last night. Oztumer needs bringing back in midfield. What's happened to Ogogo? Rodman looks good getting fitter. What's happened to Joe Ledley? I thought ogogogo was injured and out for the season? Ledley was never our player and only rumoured to be training with us intermittently. I think we are already relegated, it's just a matter of time before it's confirmed. I also think the mistakes won't be learned (because they haven't been this season) and we'll face an uncertain future next season too.. Bloody hell, that's chucking in the towel a little bit early!

The financial situation won’t be helped by all you B***** Outers withholding your support both actual and financial from the club. Still, I expect you consider it a price worth paying if the club collapses and you get your wish that B***** leaves. Nero fiddling in the flames comes to mind. You got the Nero bit right Towngas : Not only did Nero play music while his people suffered, but he was an ineffectual leader in a time of crisis.I was responding to emporersuperbus and referencing him, not anyone at the club. Just thought I’d make that clear.

We can't beat teams around us, Rex. We are the 2nd lowest scoring team in the division and we've seen enough relegation seasons to see the hallmarks of relegation (ie erroneous referee decisions, not playing two strikers, persevering with an underperforming captain, not replacing the top goalscorer with experienced alternative) I would love to be proven wrong.

I thought you might have been being sarcastic but you see the same as me. The pattern is exactly the same regardless of who has been manager with this squad, work hard but don't get the results. The next few weeks will be interesting if the results don't improve, I think we know that they can't play any better.

All those things may be true, but I'll be f**ked if I give in that easily. We may well go down, but there is still more than enough time to get out of it.

Oh hell, I'm not giving in....if we were allowed in I would be there all the time supporting, even til the weekend in Blackpool. But, the signs are there.....

I think that JB could well save the day,I really hope so because I thimk that relegation would be a disaster for the club.

Yes. Learn from the mistakes and admit them to put right what’s wrong and bounce back. Yes. but disaster, does that not big it up a bit? if you are saying we just scrape up and can go on to have a good L1 season, then why can’t we have a great L2 season if we just miss out? What constitutes the disaster, dramatic loss of income (after how expensive this season has been) having to rebuild the squad (we have to anyway). you are not really thinking properly about this are you?

Back to basics on this thread.
What is this thread about?
It’s about people coming along saying “I thimk that relegation would be a disaster for the club.“ and challenging them to properly address it. We have to look passed this “going down disaster” to appreciate what is actually wrong.
Firstly, is it clear to you whose money is being wasted? Is it owner throwing it into a fire, or the people making these awful decisions doing it with other peoples money, going to charge it back to the club as club debt? Secondly what is the income difference between finishing 3 bottom this season and not even any bounce back 3 bottom next season?
And what is your retained list end of this season, if we drop or stay up? Keep everyone? Would your retained list differ if we stayed up or went down? Here’s mine. Leahy (c) Anssi Nicholson Westbrook Grant Hare (What no Daly? Unless you are fond of sick notes)
Anyone want to make a case for someone else being part of bounce back future?

Yes I have thought about the potential problems of relegation. Rovers attendances have declined over the last couple of seasons, with deaths of fans and an elderly fanbase worried about Covid I think that they will decline further anyway but relegation would make that even worse. I think that the year off from football will make some people realise that they dont miss going to games and that it was just a habit that is now broken. Attracting better players seems difficult in this division I doubt that it would be easier in a lower division. I wonder if some of the players already here could leave if the club are relegated ? that would surely be the better ones. After a relegation there will be some sort of rebuild of the team and if it goes wrong there is the chance of another relegation,Rovers were quite lucky to bounce back from non league last time I doubt if that would happen again. So I dont think that disaster is too strong a word, maybe potential disaster if that makes you happier ?

Covid might mean a big bounce back in attendances as people realise they like going out doing stuff. successful going for promotion season would surely mean better attendances than more L1 struggle by not addressing the issue - the clubs run abysmally. “Attracting better players seems difficult in this division I doubt that it would be easier in a lower division.”. Well, I’m sorry, you and so many others just don’t get it, you just don’t get it with stay up rock on Tommy, relegation is disaster. Not a shred of doubt in my mind, if Accrington can attract and build on the budget, get VFM, punch above their weight, why can’t we? why would we fall apart, as you are so sure, with what would be a table doesn’t lie relegation. You should be just as angry and fearful at the culture of huge waste and the awful year we have suffered, because Starnes, Widdlington and Wael are just not capable at their roles. That they are planless. Clueless. Reactionary firefighting club management. They don’t back managers, just play their own games. And feed the loyal fan base bulls**t. No. The relegation is not the disaster. Not sorting out the bloody obvious problems is the disaster. Existential disaster. And you and the others the enablers. And you just don’t get it. Do you?

The club has historically struggled following relegation but there is no reason why we wouldn’t make a good gist of bouncing back, esoecially with 3 automatic places. As always it depends on recruitment and who the manager is. But we would need to take stock of where (and who) we are. I really don’t think we have the people at the club to turn it around. B***** if he wasn’t Joey B***** I’d think could do a decent job but for me personally I’d rather we move away from courting controversy with him in charge. Ultimately I’ve no faith in Wael to steer the ship in the event of relegation and in that sense we will probably struggle.

People have been and are "going out doing stuff" stuff like walking, cycling and running, in fact theres never been so many people out "doing stuff",we will see who is correct about attendances but I quite expect them to drop (even without relegation). My retained list (or yours) is pointless if Rovers are relegated as we dont know who will want to stay on for 4th tier football. Quotation marks are used to quote what people have said or written NOT what you wish that they had said, if Rovers stay up then the squad will be rebuilt,it will be easier to attract players in this division than in a lower one plus more players will be more likely to stay (if wanted). Yes I agree that the qadi ownership and their running of the club has been hopeless and will probably end in disaster but that doesnt mean that relegation wouldnt be disasterous too with falling attendances and lower budgets.

It's an interesting topic, whether attendances will go up or down, once we are able to attend football matches again.
There's the thought the situation is similar to post WWII, with people realising they'd missed going to the game, and in general not being able to do the things they used to for such a long time.
I see there are a lot of bands and music festivals reporting increased sales for forthcoming gigs and music events, when easing of restrictions allow.

Apart from JCH I can't think of a single player who has arrived since the change of ownership who would have got into the team that got us promoted out of L2. There's your answer right there KP, Wael either needs to wake up, grow up and accept that he needs help, or do the right thing and just walk away and give someone else a chance.
