Ben G,Paul T and now Joey have spoken of need for more time on the training ground.
This,to score more goals and stop conceding so many from corners, free kicks and throw ins.
Are they putting in the 'overtime' to improve things?
Are the neccessary extra hours being put in?
It won't exhaust the players and even if it did ,they can rest after the next game.As long as Joey's message sinks home and our chances of winning matches has actually improved. We have many substitutes for tired players.
I wonder just how many hours are going into improving our chances and if not enough, why?
In a nutshell.
Are we making the time at training,to improve the only two things that are wrong in our game?
Attack and defence.

I passed the Quarters on Monday about midday, JBs first session. They were training hard then. I pulled away 5 past 1 - they were still going then. It looks like they are at least trying. Whether it will work only time will tell.

JB latest interview mentions making sure are energy levels are up for next game, so it's all a matter of balance. Basel, go have a listen.

It’s a lot to do with diet and getting quality sleep too but I do always question this as, when I was a fit and strong 20 something, I could have genuinely played 4 times a week if not more. I did the gym 6 x a week but never had a discipline to keep to the correct balance of grub and I also drank large amounts of ale 😉. I just feel we need a striker and quickly plus someone , like Tony Craig, who can Marshall our defence

My thoughts were maybe go to town on getting the strikers right and defence. Then if they are tired for the next game, well they can use substitutes and even if we lose the coaching messagage may of got home,or be nearer understood. They can then rest, after that game. Sort of and possibly one match lost, but the coaching message gets home and then we begin to seriously pick up points. Maybe 1 step back before going forward. Coaching defending dead ball situations and strikers finishing surely does'nt have to be exhausting and apparentlyso difficult.

I agree with you KP, but we are where we are. It'll be interesting to see if Clint can galvanize the defence in a few sessions, and Mangan can transform our strikers. He was certainly involved enough and animated with it.

Or is it the coaching messages for attack and defence have got home, but this team is'nt good enough to apply this way of playing.
In this scenario we need new players or a minor miracle .
I suppose we just have to hope JB can succeed where BG and PT II failed.

I suppose we just have to hope JB can succeed where BG and PT II failed. This is exactly what I think. We just don’t have the experience in the squad and I really don’t think they are good enough Teams that do ok or well, normally have a mixture of youth and experience but we had our owner have a vision and Garner bought in development players and I see our first team as, very much, a development squad. It was madness to get rid of several that formed the spine of this team. We are paying for that now

I think they are good enough - individually. But not as a unit.

I think they are good enough - individually. But not as a unit. It’s a difficult one to gauge. We do have some experience in the squad in Ehmer, miniature Messi etc but they really do not look like they have been able to play and move as a team / unit. We are creating numerous chances and @mangogas has said, we could be seeing an opposing team being spanked if we can convert 50% of those chances. The only explanation I can see is that they are not good under pressure or they do not feel any connection with the club or a mixture of both. It’s never been easy to support Rovers but I’m finding this incredibly hard to take when we have gone back to where we were, when we started our slide out of the EFL. Huff & puff with no end product & we have seen how that ended , in our fairly recent history

Rovers thoroughly deserved to beat the divisions form team today.
It seems Joey's style at the Quarters paid off.
Not getting carried away, but you know there's a sniff of genuine recovery about.
Well done to JB and coaches.

I think they are good enough - individually. But not as a unit. Yes, I think that’s it in a nutshell. Some good players in the squad but as you say no one has been able to mould them into a team. Westbrooke, Ehmer, Baldwin, Jaakola, Oztumer are good players but BG and Tis were unable to get the right combination to create a good team. And, running down the spine of the team is plenty of experience for the defence and midfield. Just lacking experience in attack. UTG!

Only Westbrooke on pitch yesterday proving the point that he is a good player.

I think they are good enough - individually. But not as a unit. Just lacking experience in attack. UTG! Nice post. I highlighted the last bit to respond to. I think in previous games, Hanlan would have taken his goal with his weaker left foot, and probably not have scored....if you look at his goal, his approach naturally sits for a left footed finish, but he checks very quickly and shoots with his right, almost in one movement. If this subtle training or coaching is going in, or whether that's BH natural instinct, it's helping solve the experience issue...
