To think we had directors who wanted him in as manager
What has he ever achieved at this level (apart from the obvious)?
Such a divisive character, marmite I would say, and committed offences such as calling us “rag bag rovers”
Thank god the fan base let their feelings known that we will never be tarnished by such a character.
Only kidding Steve. I hope you are fully recovered and I’m sure you’ll walk away with 3 points on Saturday and be laughing your c&ck off.

Interesting.
SC was one of the managers available in season curtailment.
We missed the opportunity, much like with others and I am (like o p) left wondering what if?
His appointment would definitely have divided the fan base, but hey we are used to that by now....

Hamer wanted Cotterill and also he & Ken were told to go after the fruit market and we know what happened to them. WAQ is pretty darned. cold when he. wants. people out and has pants on the other place, to aid him

Although meant as a insult, as usual, Gasheads turned it round and used it as a positive. He wouldn't have been my choice to replace Paul Tisdale. But he would have had my backing, and I'd still be buying iFollow passes and actively supporting the Club. I don't think Cotterill has a huge amount of Instagram followers, or an active Twitter account. Therefore this would not satisfy Wael Al-Qadi's desire to be associated with a "celebrity". A non-starter.

This kind of 'what if' is only going to make us feel worse, do you all really need this negativity? We have to move on from who we could have had.
Surely if we had gone for him there would be the same if not more vitriol from people coz of his City connection.
We'll be saying we should have kept Garner next.

And who is ultimately responsible for the negativity mango? I'm only reacting to the current plight Bristol Rovers FC finds itself in. The buck stops with 5 years of rudderless incompetence, and that will lead you to Wael Al-Qadi's door.

I just thought it was appropriate with him coming up against on Saturday how we dodged a bullet there. Divisive, would have split the fan base, and other than a record points haul has achieved nothing at this level. Phew

Exactly, what’s worse than Joey B*****? Having managed City (successfully) Football fans are so ridiculous it’s beyond parody sometimes.

I’d have loved Cotterill here personally

Be nice when supporters are back in grounds, so everybody can meet Wael on the terraces at away games and thank him for the fantastic job he's done, destroying and humiliating our club.

We have to accept that Craig was sold as not a part of the plan, same goes for managers we think we want, like Ollie, my personal choice for aged, or SC.

I’d have loved Cotterill here personally I would have too, but the moment has gone and he is not the style they want, matters not what we want/think. But again, i go back to Mick McCarthy at Cardiff, no one wanted him but look where they are

Strange isn't it that the youngsters on Gaschat who ignore all of Bartons thuggery over the years wouldn't accept an ex City manager who has been fairly successful in his career and at a higher level. We've had Cooper, Ward etc who managed City in the past so I guess it's a part of growing up before you see the bigger picture.

Would have had him, ship has sailed I wasn't demanding his appointment just responding to your post and pointing out the fickleness of our supporters who aren't unique within football.

There were so many and as our fanbase is ageing there have to be a few mature types who should know better but associate Cotterill with that “rag ass rovers” comment
