After the end of January we can sign players on pre contracts for next season if they are out of contract with their current clubs at the end of the season. B***** will be managing at least one Tisdale signing next season if he isn't in Jail (B***** not the player) Indeed... I believe Bas was thinking a bit more short term though. You’ve mentioned this player a couple of times... reckon he’ll have second thoughts considering there may be about 4 different managers between when he signed and when he arrives? Is he any good? I rate him, not a youngster though. Like you I think he might try to get out of the contract and I can see Rovers permitting it so it would be unfair to name him.

Swiss, where is the McKay link? You mentioned this before B***** and in regards to Ledley I believe... how/why do you think he has some influence? Bas, Madden won’t be coming. We can only sign players out of contract who had their contracts cancelled before the transfer window shut. A few weeks ago I had a tip off that JB was being linked with Rovers and that his long time agent WM (fronted by his son) was also involved. When I heard that Ledley, also represented by the McKay’s, was training with Rovers it tended to confirm this. And when you look at McKay’s history, particularly his Doncaster Rovers experiment, you can see that his ambitions within football go a lot deeper than just brokering deals.

Sounds like Wael had to chase him and give him what he wanted according to Bristol Live. This would have cost BRFC a fair sum with all the conditions imposed by JB, Wael must think it worthy even with the unfinished business surrounding our new incumbent. Wael thought it was worthy to hire Garner, he needs help. Serious help. Not the chance to hire a third manager of the season.

When he arrived he brought with him a board of directors who looked like they could deliver a serious stadium project. As they left without a word, so the board got smaller and weaker before being rebuilt as (with the exception of TG in my view) a group of very low calibre uninspiring individuals. Whatever Hamer did, the way he left was very undignified and unprofessional. Starnes it seems was outcast at Plymouth and asked his mate for a job. And Tommy, well, Salisbury - Hemel Hempstead - Eastbourne. Need I say more?

So in your opinion his involvement goes beyond getting his client a new job? Some sort of pound shop Jorge Mendes/Wolves set up?

No problem if it works, but over the last year it’s been dysfunctional and that’s being kind. I really wanted to see us take a period of reflection like any professional business would do after the year we have had. But no, we go and hand out more contracts to more managers and coaches. I mean, we’re going to need an extra bus just for the coaching staff with Maher Mesure Hill and Mangan, does that alone not tell a tale of how badly run we are?

Edit
In Doncaster Rovers' 2011–12 season they struggled for form, failing to win any of their first seven matches. Then manager, Sean O'Driscoll, was sacked, with Dean Saunders being brought in to replace him.[9]
With the help of McKay, Doncaster Rovers brought in several "big–name" players in on loans and short-term contracts to try and rescue the club's Championship status,[10] including El Hadji Diouf, Pascal Chimbonda, Herita Ilunga, Carl Ikeme, Frédéric Piquionne, and Habib Beye.[11] Other players linked with the club included Robert Pires and the ex-Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra. In the end, Doncaster were relegated to League One with three games still to play after a highly controversial match against Portsmouth.[12] Many supporters blamed the failure to stay in the Championship on McKay's involvement. At the end of the 2011–12 season, chairman John Ryan deemed the McKay "experiment" over as it "didn't work" and "wouldn't work in the third tier" anyway.[10]

Let’s hope Wael and John Ryan have exchanged contact details at previous football club summits
